Thread: Do You Vary Your Grip Tightness Based on Shooting Task?

    I used to think a more relaxed grip helped facilitate long range, precision shooting.

    I was incorrect.

    I try to maintain the same essential grip on the gun for all shooting problems.

    I keep my grip the same, but I do less active recoil management. So the gun moves more when I'm shooting at long range.

    I used to grip harder on longer / harder shots, but now that I’ve climbed out of the “death grip” rabbit hole, I use the same grip for everything. Relaxed, but very strong grip.

    That is interesting. I would not have thought the two could be separated?
