Benefit of lighter or heavier bullet if loaded similar.

I am trying to find a load for general shooting and also possibly a round to finish a deer or similar. I am curious if I were to load 148 dewc and 158 lswc both with 3.5 bullseye which would be more effective. I find them both accurate and easy to shoot. Everything consistent except bullet weight even poi. I was not sure if this should be in ammunition or reloading.

3.5 bullseye with a 158 bullet is the old school solution for a 38 special factory duplication load. Should also work fine with the dewc. A little hot for a hbwc.
The first indication a bad guy should have that I'm dangerous is when his
disembodied soul is looking down at his own corpse wondering what happened.

I was wondering how close the 158 would be to factory standard pressure loads. I don’t see the need for +p found in the hollow point because more than likely it will he fired from a snub. I’ve considered carry the factory load all the time.
I know the wadcutter are highly recommended for snubs. The load would be dewc but maybe carry factory wadcutters when I’m around more people. I know carrying reloads for defense is frowned upon.
