Thread: Why is the DOJ Protecting Jeff Epstein

In the past, wasn’t one of the reasons for marrying off prepubescent girls to ensure paternity? It would be impossible for the bride to be carrying anyone else’s child. Any children from that union would have unquestioned legal paternity, which was critical when all property and titles were patrilineal.

This ultimately is a core issue regarding sexual exploitation and human trafficking in a modern context. Most often the cases are, as they are in the Ghislaine and Epstein case, where the perpetrators are considerably older than their victims.

In fact, no state in the union has an exception to statutory rape prosecution where the defendant can be more than 10 years older than victim and that one state is Utah. Where the maximum age differential is ten years, assuming the victim is at least 16 and less 18 (so you can basically do the math, the maximum age, to avoid becoming a defendant would be 26-27 years old).
