ETA: Feel free to delete this comment in hindsight. I don’t want to clutter this thread up.
    I have a 5 and I love it!

I’ve been a dot shooter now for 29 years. Early dots were 10 min (PDP3) and 8 (CMore), both of which I still have and they still work. The CMore (open gun) is still used regularly. Point is, I may be more accustomed to a bigger dot.

Not trying to hijack the thread further. But that’s really helpful. I was thinking about it some more and (ETA: rifle shooters) used to give out 4 MOA Aimpoints and use them on rifles zero’d at 100 yards. I kind of was waffling between the 2.5 or 5 MOA, but I think I’m going 5 MOA and that should be precise enough for the longer distances as well.

I outfitted my EDC Glock 34 with an X300U, waiting on a holster I bought this week, but I like the Sevigny, CHWPS plate, and SRO. But I was kind of debating the SRO model. That’s a significant expense. But, I think I’ve found the way I want to get an RDS on a pistol.
    God Bless,

    Brandon

Gamer 5MOA SRO for me too.

I have carry guns with smaller and larger dots.

If the dot is bright enough, anything will work.

When trying to do something smaller than the black of a B8 at 25 yards, smaller might be better.

    But B8 black at 25 is just about perfect with a 5MOA SRO / 6MOA R3M.

    No fail test:

If I were trying to aim at a small target less than 4 inches at >25 yards without bordering context (say like a stand-alone Coke can) I might wish I had a smaller dot, but that’s getting down to something not likely to be needed in a self defense situation.

There is a minor improvement close up with a big dot at fast recoil and transition speed so that your brain clearly can pick out the dot over reflection artifact and sun angles.

She reshot it, but not for match score or placement.

She is amazingly precise in her transitions.

    She seems like a badass.

At our match today, they had a number of stages from the LoCap Nationals. My wife had a very strong match.

If I recall correctly, she crushed me, her husband, and ~220 other shooters, outright, with a winning margin of something like nine points over the second place shooter, at the Gunsite Alumni Shoot a couple years ago.

So, yes. Certified BA, if I may be so impolite as to mention.
