Love the wood inserts on the grip. The SP101 is definitely the best looking snubby on the market.

When the thread on the 640PRO was really going strong, it gave me the wants for a "factory upgraded" snubby. 640 PRO's couldn't be found by my dealer at the time, so I settled for a Wiley Clapp SP101. Holy crap do I love that gun. After I got it I never gave the 640PRO a second thought. If Rugers custom shop ends up being a true custom shop, I'll likely send in the WC SP101 to be converted to DAO, but other than that, I think it's just about ideal for a 5 shooter you can comfortably shoot all day long.

The LGS had a WC SP101 in stock .. But I tuffed it out and picked up this used unfired SP101 ... But I must say the WC is worth the extra frogskins ...

That's the truth by far. I even think the 3 inch GP100s look awesome.

A DAO SP-101 with a trigger job would be a fun gun.

I put in some lighter Wolff springs and some shims in mine. Wasn't super great but it was much better than stock.

Yeah, not to say that there are several Ruger revolvers on my "list" that would be sent right back out to a smith for a DAO conversion, but . . . .

Not a revolver guy, but always liked the look of the GP100.

I like stainless. I like nice triggers.

I prefer revolvers that start with .4 though .44 Mag, .454, etc. I can shoot little stoff like 9mm in an auto. If I want to shoot BIG stuff then a revolver or a lever gun seems a great way to do it, short of long range rifles.

Sadly I like the shorter revolvers and the short barrels tend to neuter the benefits of the larger calibers.

Ruger should release a GP100 in .45 long colt.
