    My frame of reference stops with the std "Power Mag" as those worked just fine in my gun.

    In fact, I know more than one old school IPSC shooter who has been running the same set of 6 or 7 Power Mags forever. Every so often, the check to see if the lips have spread when the mag is loaded. If they have, they get a rubber mallet and pound them back into "spec".

    I've used the old Power Mags quite a bit myself. Never had too big an issue with feed lip spread. I've seen it more with the old Wilson 47s.

    The issue I've had with Power Mags is they don't seem to be as reliable with slide lock as most other 1911 mags. Maybe the new front-skirted followers work better in this regard.
