In my cynical view the main motivations to get elected are greed and egomania, but they're fairly easy to deal with. However, there are a few true believers out there and O-C is one of them. For now she's consigning herself to the fringe by taking shots at the group closest to her beliefs, but if other like-minded true believers get elected, look the fuck out. Call her a warning about what the future could look like.

On another note, all of this confrontational leftism lately where they are confronting politicians in restaurants with their families and and taking over their offices has been reminding me more and more of the red guards during the cultural revolution in China. It got way out of control there and it's starting to get out of control here.

She seems to be playing by prison rules within the party; find the biggest mofo there and square off.
To some she may be an annoying gnat, but to those that elected her she’s representative of their anger towards the current Democrats who haven’t gotten things done. I will give her credit in that one of her campaign focuses was climate change, and she came out swinging after getting elected. The question now is did she gain respect or is she about to be taken in the back room and shown who’s boss?
This may be the left’s counter to Trump’s play-style. We could definitely wind up with someone like O-C in the White House if her stunts prove acceptable.

I strongly suspect the Democratic party is going to pander more to their extremists in the same way the Republicans did. Centrists/Moderates/The Middle Class are going to lose in the upcoming years.
But who knows...maybe Pelosi/Schumer/Durbin et al will take Occasional-Cortex out back and show her where the bear shits in the woods.
My guess is they will tolerate her.
