I've been eyeballing a Winix or Sharp to replace my now deceased Honeywell unit. My typical allergy season is winding down and my allergies have been ramping up this year. The HW was just a filter, none of the ion stuff, and it made a huge difference. It was noisy, especially towards the end of it's life.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you're probably right.

I've got a older Winix 5500 and it works great for me. I like that the Winix #21 filters are the same size as the cheaper Fellowes HF-300 HEPA and charcoal filters.

It looks like the 5300-2 uses the same filters and is around $180.

Play that song about the Irish chiropodist. Irish chiropodist? "My Fate Is In Your Hands."
