Recommendations for Standard Velocity .22LR Ammo?

Way back when I shot Conventional Pistol and UIT Sport Pistol I bought a Ruger MkII and sent it to Clark's for a trigger job. It would happily put a full magazine in the X-ring at 50 yards from a rest if I did my part, using Eley National Match. It's been sitting unused for about 15 years, and I want to dust it off and shoot it again. My go-to practice ammo back then was Federal Champion, because I could get it at a good price from Gil Hebard.

I don't see myself getting back into competition with it, but I would like to get some decent ammo for it. The pistol is set up for standard velocity ammo, so I want to stay away from the high-velocity stuff. I don't need $10-20/box match grade fodder anymore, just decently accurate and reasonably priced ammo. What's out there nowadays?

It's going to depend on what your pistol likes, but my go-to is CCI standard; I've never had a 22 that didn't shoot reasonably well with it, and it's widely available for ~30 per brick.

Another vote for CCI - relatively cheap, but clean and consistent enough to run even in finicky guns.

I've had good results with SK Ammo when I'm looking for something a bit more accurate but not in Eley territory.

    My choices are the following:

    1) CCI Standard Velocity

    2) Gemtech (made by CCI) Subsonic

    3) SK Pistol Match (only on sale as it is now $0.14 per round)

    4) Geco Rifle

All but SK Pistol Match are available at decent prices, with my last ten-brick case of Geco costing $208 delivered. The Gemtech ammo is the most costly at roughly $50 per brick, but I really like it for small-game hunting with its heavier 42-grain bullet delivering half-inch groups at fifty yards.

Try Target Sports USA and LAX Ammo for good deals on ammo.

That's good ammo when you can find it.

My old High Standard Victor is very finicky since it has no feed ramp. CCI is the recommended standard to tune the magazine lips for.
