    Helicopter crash

Had a helicopter from Columbus, GA PD crash on Friday while going for maintenance in Alabama.

I knew the pilot, David Hall. He worked in the recruiting office and had just recently retired. Terrific guy with a laid-back demeanor and great sense of humor.

I'm sorry for your loss. We lost a crew of friends and former co-workers about 3 decades ago when I was still working MedEvac. Weather?

    Sad news.

Somewhat coincidentally, I was just visiting this EOW page a day ago when I was thinking of one of our helicopter pilots, (and a personal friend), lost during a night pursuit over Florida Bay. Everyone else aboard was able to escape the craft and be rescued.

Happily, I was part of the SRT that took the bastards down some time later.

RIP, George. Gone but never forgotten.
