It sure was nice watching him, Roenick, and Tkachuk on a line.

My hockey history goes back to original 6 days. Rangers had quite a few guys who could drop the gloves with the best of 'em...even a few who could do so and still score, like Vic Hadfield. (They're going to retire his number this year which is well deserved. He was my favorite for a long time when I was in my teens.)

Of course, since the only cup we've ever won in my lifetime was the '94 Rangers, I'll always be grateful to Messier, Richter and company for allowing me to remove that from my bucket list. I don't know if I'll ever see them hoist another.

Those guys span a lot of years on the ice. Went to lots of games with Gilbert, Giacomin and Howell. Seemed we'd lose to the Canadiens every year in the playoffs. It was disconcerting that I'd not have the chance to use all of my playoff tickets.

Tampa Bay's blue line is practically made up of ex-Rangers...

I'm surprised at the performance Barry Trotz has managed to squeeze out of the Islanders to start the season. While the media focused on Trotz leaving the Caps, the support staff he took with him is excellent - Mitch Korn is goalie Yoda.

Jury is still out on Todd Rierden, but then again the Caps had a slow start last season, and I can't complain about the final results. Finally got to see this in person the other day...

Still plenty of hockey left to go.

The Coyotes lost to the Fliers tonight. They go on the road to Philadelphia. It got pretty chippy in the third quarter in the last couple minutes. It should be an interesting game coming up.

I haven't been following the 'hawks this year so I must say I'm a bit surprised. I doubt that he's the reason they are not where they want to be. That said, it's always the coach / manager of a team that takes the blame since they're much easier to replace than all the players under-performing.
