Both Aircraft Commanders CW5s who thought this was one of their toughest missions.
Using embers on ground and trees to get reference when normally NVGs would be sucking in smoke!
High Altitude, Hot/Dirty air with thermals coming off fire, and probably fairly heavy coming out even if they went light on fuel.
DFC is no joke and these crews EARNED it!
