Thread: My Muley Buck

    My Muley Buck

My new 7mm Dakota XP-100 finally drew blood earlier in the month on a management mule deer. Shot was under 200 yards, from a double kneeling position using Bog Gear with their now discontinued PSR Top. 175 ELD-X put the buck down in less than 40 yards from the shot (which has been kind of the same thing happens every time-so far). I quartered the buck in the field, so I do not have an autopsy report like some give here in great detail. Enjoyable day for sure. This XP shoots stupid good. When stack shots on top of each other from 750 yards on out, it kind of make you feel good about your XP!

Beautiful buck! What would you guess he weighs?

I have never weighed my deer (Usually quarter in the field), so I really don't have a clue-Sorry.

Me either. But I sure do estimate them to my buddies. Probably put my thumb on my guess-scale. I'm only hunting experienced with relatively smallish Georgia whitetails. Muleys look so thick.

Great story and photo! Beautiful buck too! The pistol/scope combo looks like the perfect medicine for a day in the field. Thanks for sharing the experience!

    That's a terrific looking buck.

Makes the backstrap taste that much better.
