Thread: Anyone trained with OpSpec Training?

    Anyone trained with OpSpec Training?

I'm looking for feedback particularly in regard to this class:

    https://opspectraining.com/applied-fundamentals/

Bruce Gray is not the instructor for this one.
I had an ER nurse in a class. I noticed she kept taking all head shots. Her response when asked why, "'I've seen too many people who have been shot in the chest putting up a fight in the ER." Point taken.

I'd sure give it a try if I were around there and had the chance. I don't know Jerry Jones, but remember HR Hawkins from the first class of mine you hosted? He was in the class, and a totally awesome shooter and person. I'd take a class from him in a second.

I point you to my previous review:

    https://pistol-forum.com/showthread....Y-October-2017

The class had some good train-the-trainer aspects, and I think is an excellent class for the shooting instructor. Bruce Gray was not present for that class either but that wasn't a problem. I agree with Mr White's assessment of Mr Hawkins.

Doh. I don't remember him; perhaps because I didn't have a name to put with a face.

    Thanks.

In reading your review, I have to confess that I am a turtler/head dipper and thus corrective lenses are absolutely no help to me when shooting as I look right over the top of them.

Harold was his name - I don't think he went by HR in class. In his thirties I'd have guessed, shooting a SIG (stainless 226 IIRC), he was a fairly quiet fellow as a student in the class, very athletic, basically a human puma. He was very impressive and shot really well and took away the Light Pin. I remember him being a massive standout in the shooting on the run.

I remember the name "Harold". I just didn't realize they were one and the same.

Unless I just have it completely wrong - I'm pretty sure that's the same person.

I took Practical Fundamentals with Bruce Gray and Jerry Jones a few years ago. Bruce is, well.. Bruce, but Jerry Jones is also a first rate instructor. I would not hesitate to take another class from Jerry Jones.

I don’t know who is instructing, but OpSec is coming back to town in the spring for Practical Fundamentals and I plan on taking the class again.
