Thread: Good RANGE Watch

    Good RANGE Watch

While I love my Movado, assisting with a recent FoF course brought me to the realization that it probably isn’t the best watch for the range (especially when UTM, high velocity airsoft bbs, and the various simunitions offerings are flying). Looking at Timex, but open to suggestions. Price cap is about $150 (and it does need to look decent. Watches are one of the few things I actually care about on the fashion side)

I’ve worn G shocks all over world in all kinds of conditions. I buy one that is in the $50-60 range that I like the looks of. Then I wear it until it quits and buy a new one. I think I’m on my second or third one since about 2002. I don’t remember for sure. The bands are a little stiff at first but they quickly break in. For a hard use knock around watch that’s also cheap I don’t think they can be beat.

My everyday is a simple Citizen Eco-drive watch. Glow in the dark hands, second counter, and date, all that's really needed. If there's truly that much risk of stuff flying around I haven't scratched it badly in 5+ years but I'd still probably wear it backwards. I don't wear it during USPSA as it's a snag risk but YMMV I'm sure your environment and needs are far different.

This one, basically (just change the band from OD green if you want "fancy"):

He said he wants a watch that looks nice, not a functional A-10 or dump truck on his wrist

Back in the dark ages when snagging or damage was a risk, I carried a pocket watch on the construction site. Yes, I know.
Sorta around sometimes for some of your shitty mod needs.

    Maybe something like this: https://smile.amazon.com/Casio-MDV10...dp/B009KYJAJY/

Looks decent enough for today's fashion where a dive watch is acceptable with a suit, while being cheap enough to be pretty disposable.

My daily wear is a Marathon.

Holy smokes, $260! I sure didn't pay that much in 2011.
My present one is a warranty replacement for the replacement of a gift lost in The Incident.

My cheap watch is a Timex Expedition.

Omega, Hamilton, and Orsa go to dinner, don't go to the range or gym.

I hate wearing anything on my hands or wrists, I carried a pocket watch until the day I bought my first cell phone.

Casio ProTrek with an aftermarket band is what I wear when I do anything outdoors. Also great clinic witch: big numbers, easy to read. Get the one with the STN liquid crystal digital face (PRW3100). I love mine.
