    reddit

    Anybody?

I joined a few days ago...interesting. In case you weren't aware, reddit styles itself as "the front page of the internet". It's another news aggregation web site, where users post fun stories, pics, memes etc. and vote them up or down. There's some hobby related stuff I subscribed to; /r/glocks, /r/uspsa, etc.

So far I've not provided any personal information, just signed up with a handle and my email. I stole a couple memes for the picture thread. The photos in /r/pics are usually worth looking at. There are ads but they don't seem too outrageously annoying.

Just curious if anyone else here was on it, and what you thought.

I've been on it for a while. Its really just like another forum.

Used to surf it a bit, but honestly I found I could get all the same news elsewhere just by default without the mountain of boobs commenting. Decent for a time sink but I have PF for that at work

Interesting stuff if you can stomach the hyper left wing bias and absolutely ignorant people acting like experts about every topic under the sun.

The small offshoot subreddits in guns, knives, and buy it for life are great though.

It's been very helpful pursuing Associate level Cisco Certifications.

It's nice to be a part of a community that's full of individuals that are actively pursuing a common goal. Similar to this one.

That being said, as others have alluded - it can be a little hit or miss in other areas.

I think every sub reddit is different.

Indeed! I wrapped up my ICND2 back in January.

Preparing for IINS 210-260 now (Security).

I wish Odom wrote other stuff. The man wants you to understand. I read both of the Cisco Press books and Lammle Books. Also, Bryant’s Udemy class.

I didn’t find the IINS manual nearly as insightful which is frustrating.

    Anyway, TMI.

I've found reddit to be a great resource.
I have previously participated in firearm-centric forums, and I think that reddit's broader audience serves my other interests better than firearm forums. The gun subreddits, in general, aren't as good as dedicated firearm forums when it comes to guns, but for more diverse topics it is better.

I'm just trudging through my CCENT while I work on a few other educational projects and while it's inherently dry content he straight up spells out exactly what you need to know with no BS. They're great books!

Congrats on the ICND2, that's still off in my future as I have far too much to cram to pass the ICND1
