[QUOTE=Amp;1222746]Pasquotank County District Attorney R. Andrew Womble claimed the law enforcement killing of Andrew Brown Jr. was “justified” as he shared the results of an independent investigation by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday.

The part that really galls me is the description of the incident as "tragic." What would have been "tragic" is Andrew Brown succeeding in running over several LEO.

A nurse and her family come upon a wrecked car with airbags deployed and she asks her husband to stop so she can check see if anybody needs help. Meanwhie, the car that originally shot up the wrecked vehicle and caused it to crash circles back around the block and starts shooting again wounding the nurse’s 8 year old daughter.

ETA: has anybody else noticed an increase in reports of car to car gunfights while both parties are driving in their areas? This has become way more common here than it was 5-10 years ago.

Not a shooting but the non-prosecution in NC and this story make me wonder (hope) that people are getting sick of this nonsense and starting to be more realistic.
Case dismissed in Philly SWAT officer's use of pepper spray amid protest
Quotes from the above article:
Municipal Court Judge William Austin Meehan ruled Monday that ex-SWAT officer Richard Paul Nicoletti had been authorized by his commanders to clear the highway during protests over the death of George Floyd and had been given pepper spray as a tool to do so, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
“You may not like their methods, that doesn’t criminalize their method,” Meehan said. When the prosecutor cited Nicoletti's termination for violating department protocols, the judge said officials couldn't put officers “in charge of maintaining order, and then tie their hands on how they’re going to do it."

District Attorney Larry Krasner vowed to “vigorously pursue charges" in the case.
“The people want and deserve justice and change, including police accountability, even though some institutional players are in denial. We will stay the course,” Krasner said in a statement on the eve of a closely watched primary in his re-election bid.
