Washington officer fatally shot by partner in ‘tragic crossfire’ during attack on cops, investigation reveals
'Let us be clear, we believe the actions of the suspect led to this tragic event' Bothell's city manager said

A Washington state officer who was fatally shot in the head during a gunfight with a suspect was hit by a round fired by his partner, investigators said Friday.

Jonathan Shoop, a 32-year-old officer with the Bothel Police Department, was on duty with his field-training officer, Mustafa Kumcur, on Monday night when they attempted a traffic stop on a black sedan without license plates, but the suspect drove away, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Det. David Fontenot wrote in a probable cause statement filed in court
Washington then got out of his vehicle and fired two rounds into the patrol SUV, breaking the driver's side window where Shoop was seated. The second shot struck Kumcur's gun and ricocheted off of it, grazing Kumcur in the head.

A witness told investigators that the shooter shouted “Come on, pig” as he fired, Fontenot wrote.

Both officers returned fire, shooting off nine rounds, but a bullet from Kumcur's gun struck Shoop in the head, killing him, investigators said.

Kumcur pulled Shoop from the vehicle and tried to save his life, Fontenot wrote. Medics arrived as well, but Shoop was pronounced dead on the scene.

Federal judge’s son killed, husband shot by unknown gunman at their N.J. home

The son of a federal judge was killed and her husband was wounded when a gunman opened fire at their home in Middlesex County Sunday evening, setting off a massive investigation, officials said.

Mark Anderl, 63, a criminal defense attorney and husband of U.S. District Judge Esther Salas, and their son, Daniel, 20, were shot at about 5 p.m. at their home in North Brunswick. Salas was not injured in the shooting.

The gunman may have been dressed as a FedEx deliveryman, two law enforcement sources told NJ Advance Media.

Chief U.S. District Court Judge Freda Wolfson confirmed to The Associated Press that the couple’s son was killed and Mark Anderl had been wounded in the shooting.

North Brunswick Mayor Francis “Mac” Womack said the judge’s husband was in critical condition and underwent surgery and is now in stable condition. He also confirmed the couple’s son had died.

The FBI said they were searching for one subject, and asked for help from the public.

I thought stuff like this only happened in TV and movies nowadays. Who is stupid enough to target a federal judge and her family?

Woody's father. I used to drive by the murder scene almost everyday. It was an upscale residence on the way to work.

A teenage Afghan girl has been hailed on social media for her "heroism" after fighting back last week against Taliban militants who killed her parents.

The girl took the family's AK-47 assault rifle, shot dead two of the militants and wounded several others, local officials in Ghor province said.

Naval Special Warfare member shoots and kills intruder at Alaska installation

A Naval Special Warfare service member shot and killed an armed man who tried to enter a building at a Kodiak, Alaska military installation on Saturday, officials said.

Around 10:30 p.m. that night, a watch guard at the base observed the intruder, a 30-year-old civilian named Jayson Vinberg, tapping on the windows of a watch building with a knife, the Alaska State Troopers wrote in a dispatch on Sunday.

The base duty officer told Vinberg that he had to leave the base and then left the building to confirm that he was in fact leaving.

“Instead, the male started to walk toward the duty officer and the male brandished a knife,” the Alaska State Troopers wrote. “The male failed to obey the duty officer's repeated commands to stop walking towards him. The duty officer produced a handgun and shot the male.”

Medics responding to the scene declared Vinberg deceased, wrote the Alaska State Troopers, who also responded to help secure the scene.

Jeff Houston, a spokesman for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, wrote in a statement that NCIS is leading the investigation with support from Alaska State Troopers and the Coast Guard Investigative Service.

The duty officer's name won't be released until after consultation with the Alaska U.S. Attorney's Office and Naval Criminal Investigative Unit is complete, according to the Alaska State Troopers.

Naval Special Warfare created a training detachment in Kodiak in 1987 to train winter warfare students, according to a 2008 Navy press release.

From what I gather this is someone who got caught up in a BLM protest, tried to drive away, got blocked and/or surrounded. The video link is a Tim Pool video. Tim makes reference to having a video of the shooter previously declaring the people opposing them were Pu**ies who wouldn’t do anything about it. If true, his death is ironic.
