Good guy with gun saves lady from carjacking.. No shots fired. Lady took a punch to the face and kept fighting, it seems.

68-Year-Old Woman Attacked Outside Fort Worth’s Hulen Mall

The woman fought the suspects and one of them punched her in the face.
The bandits tried to steal her car, but couldn’t because she had the electronic key in her pocket.
A witness drew a weapon and the suspects dropped the woman’s purse and ran, Calzada said.
The woman, who is from Denton, was treated by medics and released at the scene.
Police did not make any arrests.
Police released mall surveillance video in hopes of identifying the suspects

After the shooting, Vickers immediately contacted his family in New Brunswick to tell them he is safe — “I’m doing okay,” he said — but that hasn’t stopped them worrying about the emotional trauma that will follow, having being forced to pull the trigger for the first time. “We’re always very proud of Kevin, but at this moment we are concerned about him — he had to make a very serious decision today,” said Mary, Vicker’s older sister.

(The gunman) was shot 31 times after he stormed Parliament Hill on Oct. 22, and was finally killed by a bullet to the back of his head, according to CBC News based on a report by the Ontario Provincial Police to be released Wednesday. The autopsy and ballistics report reveals that eight bullets remained in his body, four of them from the gun of Vickers, who fired 15 shots. The report concludes that two of the shots would have been fatal without immediate medical intervention, including the last shot to the back of the head, according to the CBC’s sources. According to the CBC, the OPP report will conclude that (the gunman) was alive until the final shot to the back of the head, and that the parliamentary security team followed a “justifiable” course of action.

Vickers became the Canadian ambassador to Ireland shortly after this happened; I’m guessing someone just asked him to pick a job he wanted. Good for him.

1 dead, 5 hurt in shooting on Greyhound bus

The shooting occurred at about about 1:27 a.m. local time when the bus was near Lebec, about 80 miles north of Los Angeles. The bus driver immediately pulled over and persuaded the male suspect to get off the bus, California Highway Patrol spokesman Bryan Pennings said. When the suspect got off he left his handgun behind, Pennings said. The driver then took an exit and pulled into a gas station to get medical help for the passengers, Pennings said. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident, officials said.

Massachusetts man trying to rescue neighbor from pit bulls fatally shoots him with crossbow

A Massachusetts man who was being mauled by two pit bulls was shot and killed by a crossbow fired by a neighbor trying to stop the vicious onslaught, authorities said.

The victim, who has not been identified, was fatally struck by an arrow Wednesday as he was attempting to barricade himself behind a door inside his apartment in Adams, according to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office.

A neighbor heard a commotion and called police before entering the man’s apartment and using a crossbow to shoot at the two male pit bulls — both of which had a history of acting aggressively, prosecutors said.

“The arrow struck one of the dogs, went through a door, and then struck the individual being mauled as he was attempting to barricade himself from the attack,” a statement released by the office reads.

An investigation into the incident is still ongoing, but the man’s death appears to be accidental.
A child was also found unhurt in a nearby room. The dogs, meanwhile, were shot and killed by responding officers who found the animals engaged in a “volatile confrontation” at the time, prosecutors said.

Sad. Trying to help ended up in the worst possible scenario.
Same rule applies to crossbows - know what's beyond the target.

Club ManchVegas murder suspect claims involuntary trigger squeeze

Defense lawyers for Justin Moura, the city man charged with murder outside Club ManchVegas last March, are adding a second strategy for his upcoming trial — that an involuntary muscle contraction caused him to fire the gun that killed the passenger in an SUV as it veered toward him and he lost balance. Moura faces a charge of second-degree murder in the March 2, 2019 death of Tanya Hall, a passenger in a Jeep Wrangler that was leaving the parking lot after Hall’s boyfriend, Jeremy Winslow, got into a confrontation with Moura and members of his Bro men’s club both inside and outside of Club ManchVegas. In previously filed papers, his lawyers have said that Moura may claim self defense, claiming that Moura, an Iraq combat veteran, was struck in the parking lot by Winslow’s SUV and his “fight or flight” reaction kicked in. In that notice, they say the gun fired accidentally.
