Man arrested in shooting death of person trying to break into vehicle

    https://kdvr.com/2019/04/21/man-arre...-into-vehicle/

DENVER — A man was arrested Saturday in the shooting death of a man who was allegedly breaking into his vehicle, the Denver Police Department said Sunday.

Brice Fitch, 24, is being held for investigation of first-degree murder.

The victim, who has not been identified, was found inside a vehicle in the 12600 block of East Exposition Avenue on Friday afternoon after the Aurora Police Department responded to a welfare check.

Officers found the man in the vehicle dead from a gunshot wound.

Detectives determined the man was shot during an incident involving the criminal trespass of a vehicle just after 4 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of South Jasmine Street in Denver, about five miles away.

Denver police took control of the investigation and determined the man and his associates were confronted by Fitch, the owner of the vehicle.

Investigators are tying to determine what happened next, but they allege Fitch shot the victim several times. It’s unclear how the victim got to Aurora.

His identity will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

Fitch was taken into custody Saturday and is being held at the Downtown Detention Center without bond.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 720-913-2000 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.

Every now and then you read a story that makes your blood boil.

Father shoots 2-year-old son in face with shotgun during domestic dispute.

Jackson police say Glance got into an argument with the boy's mother, Nicole McCarthy at his home in the 400 block of Barrett Avenue in Blackman Township on Tuesday, April 16.

Jackson County Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kati Rezmierski said Glance held a pistol to his son's head and pulled the trigger, but the weapon did not fire.

McCarthy grabbed the boy and ran to the car to try to leave when Glance came out of the house with a shotgun, Rezmierski said.

"He pointed the shotgun at the same two-year-old son of his that was strapped defenseless in the back seat of the car," Rezmierski said. "He pointed it at him and blew off half of his face.”
The kid is listed in critical condition currently.

Shit like this is why I support the death penalty.
“Conspiracy theories are just spoiler alerts these days.”

"...that was strapped defenseless in the back seat of the car..."

What a classic example of reverting to normal patterns of behavior during an emergency - Dad just tried to shoot the child, Mom grabs the child and runs, but takes the time to strap the kid in the car seat instead of just jumping in and leaving.

(Not criticizing the Mom - it's just an example of how humans react, like not dropping the cell phone as in another ongoing thread)

Hope he spends rest of his life behind bars.
It's amazing that the kid survived a close range shot gun.

This is yet another example of a legal gun owner turning into a bad guy with a gun.
Gun owners really have to think 10x harder to make sure things don't go out of control, mentally, physically, everywhere.
Losing temper with a firearm is a disaster.

You are making an assumption this suspect was a “legal gun owner.” There is nothing in the article one way or the other.

You are also falling into an old fallacy popular among gun control advocates that “The finger pulls the trigger, but the trigger may also be pulling the finger.” it is bullshit perpetuated by people who are emotionally unstable and project that failing on others.

Most people cannot go from “normal” to this level of extreme instantly. Things like this don’t “just happen.” I would be very surprised if this suspect doesn’t have prior history of violence, domestic violence, mental health issues or all three.

Yeah, a dude that did what he did would have just used whatever other easily available tool he could find, or just his bare hands to achieve his goal of making his kid’s mother watch her child die.

Post A new way to buy domain name... with gun.

In June 2017, Adams enlisted his cousin to break into the domain owner’s home and force him to transfer it. The cousin drove to the domain owner’s house and provided a demand note, which contained instructions for transferring the domain to Adams, court records show.

After entering the home, the intruder grabbed the victim’s arm and ordered him to connect his computer to the internet.

He put the firearm against the victim’s head and ordered him to follow the instructions. “Fearing for his life, the victim quickly turned to move the gun away from his head. The victim then managed to gain control of the gun,” court records show.

The victim shot the intruder multiple times and called the police.
