Recent history might give reason for pause.

Homeowners, including one armed with an AR-15, fight back against burglars in three Mercer County cases

A homeowner armed with an AR-15 confronted a female intruder, homeowners chasing down a sneaky thief who tried breaking into their residence, and a homeowner holding an intruder at gunpoint were among the three burglaries local deputies handled in a 24-hour period.

Snow storm road rage, school bus driver gets shot

Snow storm traffic up here in Minneapolis / St Paul can be nasty. We had a school bus driver shot in a case of road rage on I-35 / I-94 in a snow storm. This is one of the busiest corridors in our metro area with 14 lanes of traffic. Bus driver survived. One kiddo on the bus was fine. Shooter picked up attempted second degree murder and assault charges.

Driver reportedly shot at DeConcini port

A federal officer or officers in Nogales reportedly shot a driver trying to flee back into Mexico through the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry on Thursday evening.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the scene declined to comment, but Mexican authorities told reporters that two men were in a pickup that crashed on the south side of the port. The driver was reportedly shot in the head and taken to a medical facility in Mexico. The passenger, who was unharmed, was arrested.
