It doesn’t change the fact these two were lucky. Nothing more.
OK is a shall issue state, Get a damn CHL or what ever they call it in OK and carry your gun.
NPE not withstanding, if there is one thing I cannot stand about my adopted home state, it is lazy jackasses and their “car guns” aka future crime guns.

They did the right thing, but it doesn't necessarily mean they did all things right...
Although, based on some of the articles (still seeing conflicting info) one of them saw the commotion and drove into the parking lot. So he was coming from the car either way...perhaps the info is fuzzy that he got it out of the trunk if he was also looking to get a med kit out of there first.
Regardless, if that nut was a little more committed, wanted to press the fight, and headed into the building, that could have been way uglier, and even if Usain Bolt was running to the car to get his gun, a lot more lives would have been lost.

Criticism about the 'trunk gun' aside...
"They were able to shoot this suspect and put an end to this very dangerous situation," Oklahoma City Police Capt. Bo Mathews said. The bystanders' actions were "well within their legal rights" and likely would be protected by good Samaritan laws, Mathews said. He deferred a final call to the Oklahoma County district attorney, whose staff did not immediately respond to CNN's request for comment. "These guys were protecting somebody else's life," the police captain said. "You can say they are heroes."

Cop faces murder charges in fatal shooting of brother, an off-duty sheriff's deputy, police say
An off-duty Texas police officer was arrested Saturday in the shooting death of his brother, an off-duty sheriff’s deputy, during a possible home dispute, authorities said.
Robert Lee, 59, a police officer in Stagecoach, near Houston, was charged with murder in the fatal shooting of his brother, 57-year-old Harris County Sheriff's Deputy Rocky Lee, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said. He was not charged with capital murder because the victim was off-duty.
Authorities say they believe Rocky Lee was checking on the welfare of his brother when he was shot several times in the bathroom of the residence. They said the circumstances that led to the shooting were still under investigation.
Robert Lee initially reported he shot a man multiple times, saying he believed he was firing at someone who broke into his home shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, Montgomery County officials said.

Man who shot himself in Austin Landing HomeGoods had gun improperly holstered
MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — UPDATE @ 6:15 p.m. (May 29): The Xenia man in his 60s who shot himself while in the restroom at the Austin Landing HomeGoods store was using a holster not regulated for the gun he was carrying, a spokeswoman with Austin Landing said.
The holster was filled with some type of paper to make the gun fit, the spokeswoman, Cheryl Dillin, told News Center 7’s Malik Perkins on Tuesday.
The man, who is expected to be OK, did not break any laws by carrying the gun into the store, she said. Ohio’s CCW laws allow anyone with a permit to carry into a store unless there is a posting in the store prohibiting weapons be brought inside -- concealed or not.

The agent lunged for his gun but accidentally fired it as he was picking it back up, Denver police said. One person was struck in the lower leg but is expected to survive, Denver police said. Authorities have not identified the agent because he was not arrested, Denver police community resource officer Marika Putnam said. The incident occurred at Mile High Spirits, a bar, distillery and live music venue near Coors Field. It's unclear whether the off-duty agent had been drinking at the time.
