3 girls shot after man discharges gun while teaching safety class in Ocala

The incident occurred Monday afternoon at Eglise Baptiste Philadelphie church near Ocala. According to a Marion County Sheriff's report, the man said he was showing three girls "the difference between a real firearm and a BB gun." He was using his Sig Sauer 9 mm when his "finger snagged the trigger." He told deputies he doesn't recall pulling the trigger. Two girls were struck in a leg, while the other girl was struck in her arm. They were transported to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. No arrest was made.

Couple stabbed and shot in their home by a drug addict. Said drug addict later found dead of an overdose.

Not only did this occur close to home, but I worked with the male victims father for over 16 years. Very tragic.

That Home Depot (and Home Depots in general) is a complete shit show. There's a very violent class of criminal that seem to specifically target HD for power tools to fence online. Not sure what this guy was doing, but heavily shoplifters armed shoplifters are not uncommon.

At the risk of drifting yet another thread, I've got to agree vis-a-vis the Home Depot analysis. We have two within 10 miles of me and I would rather drive 10 additional miles just to buy at another (Lowe's, IMHO) store of that type. I dunno what it is - the "help" is just as bad as the clientele. It seems to me that Lowe's employees are better trained in both product knowledge and customer relations.

64 y/o shot and killed a 27 y/o armed robber at Wells Fargo ATM (Orange County, FL)

A man shot and killed an armed robber after he was approached at an ATM at an Orange County bank early Tuesday morning, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said. The victim, identified as 64-year-old Frederick Hecker, was at the Wells Fargo location at 4549 Hoffner Ave., near Conway Road, when 27-year-old Carlos Medina tried to rob him at gunpoint, spokeswoman Jane Watrel said. Hecker had a gun, for which he has a concealed weapons permit, and exchanged shots with Medina, Watrel said. Hecker drove away and called 911, then returned to the scene, Watrel said. Medina was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in serious condition and later was pronounced dead.

    1) may Mr. Hecker get the support and counseling he may need after the incident.
    2) may the legal system leave him alone.
    3) most importantly... good job taking out the trash...

SAPD: Man fatally shot by SAPD officer pointed gun at people, fired at officer
Officer had to shoot through front window, police say

Authorities were called to the intersection of Iowa and South Pine streets around 6 p.m. Monday for a report of a man pointing a gun at people.

A 30-year veteran of the San Antonio Police Department responded to the call and spotted the man walking away from a VIA bus stop. The officer attempted to get the man's attention by honking at him and around the same time, a VIA police officer arrived at the scene.

Police said the man turned toward the San Antonio police officer and started firing at him. The officer returned fire from inside his patrol car, shooting through his window, police said.

The officer then moved to a different position and resumed shooting at the man.

Police said the man walked approximately 14 yards before collapsing and was pronounced dead at the scene.
