SAPD: Security guard shoots man in self defense

Police said it all started when the Texas Lawman Security guard approached a resident at the Woodhill Apartments in the 4900 block of Woodstone, and the pair began arguing.

The San Antonio Police Department said the argument started when the security guard asked the man to leave the complex's pool that was closed and discard a beer he was drinking.

When the man did not comply, the guard attempted to detain him.

However, police said the man knocked the guard's head on the ground, hitting it on the concrete.

The man also threatened to kill the guard, according to police.

At some point in the scuffle, the security officer pulled out a gun and shot the resident.

Police said the security guard shot the man in the abdomen, but his injury is not life-threatening

The initial shots seem justifiable, but once he's down....

I get that he was not compliant. But if I'd just been shot, I'd think my natural reaction would be to reach for the wound(s). And I don't know how well I'd be processing verbal instructions.

On the other hand, plenty of guys get shot and keep fighting.

    Bad day all around.

3 officers killed in Baton Rouge.

The head of Cleveland's largest police union is calling on Ohio Gov. John Kasich to temporarily restrict the state's open carry gun laws during this week's Republican National Convention following Sunday's shooting in Louisiana that killed three officers and wounded at least three others.

"We are sending a letter to Gov. Kasich requesting assistance from him. He could very easily do some kind of executive order or something -- I don't care if it's constitutional or not at this point," Stephen Loomis, president of Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association, told CNN. "They can fight about it after the RNC or they can lift it after the RNC, but I want him to absolutely outlaw open-carry in Cuyahoga County until this RNC is over."

Police said that they had pulled him over as they were investigating reports of a man walking around with a rifle. They said that Noble had told them he hated his life and reached for his waistband, at which point police shot him.
As Noble was lying on the ground, two officers instructed him to keep his hands up. When he moved his arms, the first officer fired again.

"If you reach one more time, you will get shot again. Stop. Dude," a second officer said, before firing a shotgun at Noble.
The officers had a reasonable belief Noble had a gun. A person who is armed with a firearm is still a threat, even when "down".

This was a pretty clear suicide by cop.
