Homeowner just pointed it at him... It was really a Judge with 410 shells.

Why be armed? Because it's not the odds... it's the stakes.

My first thought was .22 to the eye socket but then they mentioned 1 shot to the torso.

Not to sound like a party pooper but let's try to keep this thread semi-serious. I'm sure we can all name some caliber that's not optimal for self-defense and come up with a one liner but it defeats the purpose of this thread. Thanks!

This young man should be commended for taking the intiative to help prevent harm coming to his family. Hopefully it doesn't weigh too heavily on his conscience.

Proof that young, mature kids can be taught to use firearms in a safe and efficient manner.

Too true. A .22 would require very exact shot placement to yield such results. Kudos also to whomever (presumably his father) instructed him.

Oh, and sorry for the one liner earlier. Not a great way to start my posting here I guess. [/threaddrift]

No biggie. I was just hoping trying to keep this thread more of a semi-serious discussion and there were 4 caliber comments in a row.

PA - A PA convenience store owner fired his gun at 2 armed robbers who tried to rob his store. It is unclear if either suspect was hit and both remain at large.
