According to police, three women had a flat tire and called a friend to assist. The friend arrived and began changing the tire and a short while later a vehicle, possibly a Chrysler, drove up. Two men were in the vehicle, police said.
That’s when an armed teen boy, identified as 17-year-old Jose Valerio, got out and pointed the gun at one of the women and demanded her money. However, the tables turned when the friend who was changing the tire stood up, identified himself as a police officer and drew his firearm. Police said an exchange of gunfire erupted and Valerio was shot multiple times to his body.
The other person in the Chrysler fled the scene in the vehicle, police said.
Valerio died at the hospital. No one else was injured.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – An Oakland man stopped a would-be burglar with a video game gun Sunday.
Police say a 24-year-old man was at his Ophelia Street home Sunday morning playing video games when an unknown man came into his house.
The resident told police he felt threatened and pulled out a “prop” gun, likely used in the video game he was playing, and was able to detain the intruder until police arrived.
Once on scene, police arrested the man.
The suspect, 23-year-old Kymarr Freeman of Oakland, was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and possessing an instrument of crime.
