    More on the Oakland shooting

OAKLAND (CBS SF) — An anonymous police source told KPIX Wednesday that multiple Oakland police detectives and officers didn’t want to arrest the Chinatown store owner who used a handgun to stop a woman from being robbed earlier this week.

The owner of a liquor store in Oakland’s Chinatown — who has not been identified by authorities — intervened to stop the robbery early Monday evening.

Article goes on to say that the owner had a valid carry permit. Report claims that the escaping assailants almost hit the shop owner with their vehicle, and that's when he fired.

Another shooting at a gun range, this time in New Orleans.

"Williams entered the store in the New Orleans suburb on Saturday with a loaded firearm and was asked to unload by a compliance officer. Mayer said Williams 'became agitated by the request and pulled his gun out of his pants and started firing.' He said employees and customers returned fire and 'eliminated the threat.'”

Damn. My guess is that he was a prohibited person, but I wouldn't put money on it.

Damn. 80 rounds fired and only 2 people injured/killed is a whole lot of misses and/or inconsequential hits.

Security officer shoots shoplifting suspect during struggle at West Side Walmart, police say
The man pointed his gun at the officer, which lead to the officer firing gunshots

    https://www.expressnews.com/news/loc...t-15969864.php

An off-duty San Antonio ISD police officer working security at a far West Side Walmart shot and injured a man suspected of shoplifting Saturday, according to police.

The security officer, Manuel Espinoza, confronted the 44-year-old unidentified man at around 1:45 p.m. near an entrance of the store located at 8923 W. Military. A brief struggle ensued before the man brandished a handgun and pointed it at Espinoza, police said.

Espinoza then pushed the man away from him to get some distance between the two before unholstering his service weapon and firing several shots, SAPD said. The man was hit multiple times and later taken to University Hospital. Police did not provide an update on the man's condition
