Georgia still seems a dicey proposition...

MCDONOUGH, Ga. (AP) — A Tulane University basketball player who recently declared for the NBA draft is charged with murder and other counts in a Georgia slaying.

Teshaun Hightower, who led the Green Wave in scoring last season, was booked into jail Saturday on multiple charges, including murder and aggravated assault, Henry County Jail records show.

He was one of six people wanted in connection with an April 8 homicide in Stockbridge, Georgia, Henry County police said in a Facebook post Friday. Police spokesman Capt. Randy Lee told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the victim, Devante Anthony Long, died from gunshot wounds after he was taken to a hospital.
There's nothing civil about this war.

From LE friends in La you don’t want to read the affidavit, the POS caught the 2 officers walking to the back of the house while others were in front for a knock & talk relative to an earlier DV homicide that AM. Said POS shot both w/ a long gun then put additional rds. into one of them while standing over him, last I heard the other officer was still in crit. condition.

Though accidents do happen...especially when we have a population of brand new gun owners, from a population of folks with an inflated sense of their own genius/competence. Time will tell i guess.
Read in some of the suicide literature that single car accidents and gun cleaning accidents - are suicides. Esp. look at ones with insured victims. Taking care of family finances.

Las Vegas - Man arrested after shots fired at late-night Amazon delivery driver

The Amazon driver told police he was delivering a package to a home on Lake Isle, wearing an Amazon delivery vest, when a resident of an adjacent home confronted him, shining a flashlight in his face, according to an arrest report for Lattana.
It gets "better" - the driver had already returned to and entered his vehicle when the shots were fired.

Barnstead dad charged with shooting daughter's ex-boyfriend

A 58-year-old man driving a pickup pulled alongside a dump truck on Route 28 and fired multiple rounds, wounding his daughter’s ex-boyfriend four times, police said. Marcos Antonio Pagan, of 75 Old Rochester Road, has been charged with attempted murder and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon. Alton Police Chief Ryan Heath said Pagan fired eight shots from a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun into the driver’s side of the 14-wheeler and then returned to his home on Old Rochester Road. Iran Hilerio, 28, of New Britain, Conn., was shot in his left shoulder, abdomen, groin and buttocks, according to police. He was in stable condition at Concord Hospital Wednesday evening. A female passenger in the dump truck, Natasha Cruz-Echevarra, 23, also of New Britain, was not injured. According to Heath, police have recovered the Springfield XDM pistol believed to have been used in the shooting.

Columbus Co. homeowner justified in deadly shooting of intruder

Jon David said his staff convened with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and determined that Fidler’s actions were justified. Under North Carolina law, “[t]he lawful occupant of a home … is presumed to have held a reasonable fear of imminent death or serious bodily harm to himself or herself or another when using defensive force that is intended or likely to cause death or serious bodily harm to another if… [t]he person who uses defensive force knew or had reason to believe that an unlawful and forcible entry …was occurring or had occurred.”

A security guard is shot and killed after telling customer to put on a face mask

    Posted: May 4, 2020 / 03:21 PM EDT / Updated: May 4, 2020 / 03:21 PM EDT

FLINT, Michigan- (CNN) — A security guard at a Family Dollar store in Flint, Michigan, was shot and killed after telling a customer to wear a state-mandated face mask, police said.
Calvin Munerlyn, 43, died at a local hospital after he was shot in the head Friday, said Michigan State Police Lt. David Kaiser.

The shooter and a second suspect remain at large, Kaiser told CNN on Monday.

Witnesses at the store told police that Munerlyn got into a verbal altercation with a woman because she was not wearing a mask, said Genesee County prosecutor David Leyton. Surveillance video confirms the incident, Leyton said.

Under an executive order from Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, all retail employees and customers have to wear a mask.

Footage also shows that immediately after the altercation, the woman left in an SUV.
But about 20 minutes later, the SUV returned.

Two men entered the store and one of them yelled at Munerlyn about disrespecting his wife, Leyton said. The other man then shot the security guard.

Extremely sad. Seems to be an open question whether the crackheads who killed this poor guy lawfully owned their weapons, had concealed carry permits, and were wearing MAGA hats.

SAN ANTONIO – One person is dead following a shootout between a homeowner and suspected car burglar early Tuesday morning, San Antonio police said.

The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. in the 900 block of Deely Place, not far from South Flores Street and Roosevelt Avenue on the city’s South Side.
