More info on this. The shooter had a concealed carry permit, minor criminal background (DWI, traffic tickets). The motive is unknown and will probably remain so.

    Pretty maddeningly awful.

New details have come to light regarding the shooting of Lady Gaga's dog walker and the theft of two of her French bulldogs.

I love dogs, but the victim here is too much of an afterthought.

I hope these scum take the quick road to hell.

2 charged with murder after Georgia deputy dies from wounds

Two suspects have been charged with murder following a shooting that left a Georgia sheriff's deputy dead, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) on Monday. The deputy, identified as Lt. Justin Bedwell, died at a hospital Monday, the GBI wrote in a statement. He had been in critical condition after being shot inside his car Saturday afternoon during the pursuit. The suspects, Troy Arthur Phillips, 40, and Brad Phillips, 41, were both arrested following the chase and subsequent manhunt which began in Seminole County following an attempted traffic stop. (During a subsequent pursuit, which included a gunfight) the suspects then drove into the driveway of a residence where they attempted to gain entry by shooting through the door, but the homeowner returned fire and the suspects fled, according to the GBI. One of the suspects then shot and critically injured Bedwell, who was arriving at the scene, authorities said. The suspects eventually crashed in a wooded area, police said. Brad Phillips was reportedly taken into custody at the scene. Troy Phillips was captured Sunday following a manhunt. Each are charged with felony murder and aggravated assault of a police officer, among other things, according to the GBI.

1-year-old baby accidentally shot by officer in deadly SW Houston shooting, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A mother who pulled into a southwest Houston gas station overnight could never have imagined what happened next. Her 1-year-old baby in the backseat of her car was shot. The pair was caught in the middle as police confronted a chase suspect.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at a Chevron gas station near the Southwest Freeway and Beechnut.

Police say the man had a gun, so officers told him to drop it.

According to police, the man didn't drop the gun, and that's when the officer fired, hitting not only the suspect, but also the 1-year-old child in the backseat.
Video shows the baby's head bandaged at the scene. The 1-year-old was reportedly stable at a hospital. Police say the baby's mom was not hurt.
The suspect, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dallas police officer arrested on two capital murder charges

Officer Bryan Riser was taken into custody Thursday morning and charged with two counts of capital murder. DPD Chief Eddie Garcia said the arrest was the result of an expedited internal affairs investigation. The chief said police received information from a witness that implicated Riser in both murders. Riser is currently on administrative leave but the chief said the department will take swift action to change that. "This individual has no business wearing this uniform," Garcia said.
