This is tragic and so preventable. Most of these incidents, to include a reserve Palo Alto officer killed a couple of decades ago, happened after lunch. When my PD does force on force training, we provide lunch on the city dime, just to reduce the number of people leaving the training site and arming up to go get lunch. The two were play wrestling Sunday night on a bed inside a home near Bloomington, Indiana, when the gun — which the 36-year-old father had concealed near the small of his back — fell and discharged one shot. The 4-year-old boy and his father were both shot in the head, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The boy was taken by helicopter to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, where he was listed in critical condition Monday. The father was taken to IU Health Methodist in Indianapolis with injuries that were not life-threatening.

No clear details yet, but sounds like a --ahem -- "not random" shooting at a downtown Seatown McDonalds at about 5 p.m. My guess is gang and/or drug related.

The shooting happened around 5 p.m. after a fight escalated outside a McDonald's restaurant on 3rd Avenue and Pine Street.
"This was not a random incident," Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best said. "There were multiple people involved. There was a dispute that happened in front of the McDonald's. People pulled out guns and shots rang out."

Haven't been in a shootout at a strip club but having been involved in an undercover meet in one, followed by a keystone cops like take down in the lot outside afterward, I can tell you this: not the best venue for law enforcement ops on a whole variety of levels.
There's nothing civil about this war.
