I noted that one of the not-landscapers opened the screen door prior to the homeowner opening the entry door. That seems like a clue; normal people don't do that.

#Colchester: Gabriel Wortman may be driving what appears to be an RCMP vehicle & may be wearing an RCMP uniform. There's 1 difference btwn his car and our RCMP vehicles: the car #. The suspect's car is 28B11, behind rear passenger window. If you see 28B11 call 911 immediately. pic.twitter.com/yyeOeBt8Ui

Official: Police kill gunman who hijacked Dallas-area bus

ROWLETT, Texas (AP) — A passenger opened fire on a Dallas-area public bus on Sunday before hijacking it and leading officers on a chase that ended in a shootout in which the passenger was killed and two officers were wounded, an official said.

The man got on the bus in Richardson, just north of Dallas, at around 11 a.m and opened fire, shattering windows, said Gordon Shattles, a spokesman for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit system. He then hijacked the bus and eventually led officers on a chase eastward before police used a spike strip to stop the vehicle in the suburb of Rowlett, Shattles said.

The man opened fire upon exiting the bus, leading officers to fire back, killing him, said Shattles, who didn’t release the suspect’s name. A DART public transportation officer and Garland police officer were shot and wounded, but their injuries weren’t considered life-threatening, he said.

There was one other passenger on the bus during the chase, but that person wasn’t injured, Shattles said.

Officers from Richardson, Garland, Dallas, Rowland and DART, which serves Dallas and its suburbs, took part in the chase.

This guy more than likely drove right by where I live on Friday night/ Saturday morning. His first victim, who I didn’t get in the quote, was a woman who worked at a landscape company and they think she pulled up while he was burglarizing the business

A Georgia man accused in a deadly crime spree across Alabama over the weekend has now been formally charged with the murder of a Birmingham man.

Birmingham detectives on Monday obtained a capital murder warrant during a burglary against 32-year-old Derrick Lee Hightower. He is charged in the Saturday-morning shooting death of 36-year-old Antione Harris inside an east Birmingham home. A no-bond has been issued against Hightower.

Hightower and 21-year-old Kentrice Symonee Hill, of Birmingham, already have been charged with capital murder in the Friday morning death of a woman in Auburn. Hill is not charged in Harris’ slaying.

Hightower was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 2:10 p.m. Monday and is being held without bond. Hill is being held without bond in the Lee County Detention Center.

Additionally, Hightower is suspected in the slayings of a Dadeville couple of their bodies were discovered in their home Friday night. Both had been shot to death. And, Shelby County sheriff’s officials are working to obtain formal warrants against the Columbus man in the Friday robberies of three people inside a Chelsea urgent care office.

Woman's breast implant deflects bullet, saving her life

Doctors believe the woman's life was saved because of her implants, which affected the trajectory of the bullet.
(CNN)A woman who survived a close-range gunshot wound to the chest was saved because of her silicone breast implants, doctors believe.

In a case study published to the SAGE medical journal last week, doctors described how a silicone breast implant deflected a bullet away from a 30-year-old woman's vital organs.
The incident, which took place in 2018 in Toronto, Canada, is one of only a handful of instances recorded in medical literature where a breast implant played a role in saving a patient's life, and the first recorded instance of a silicone implant doing so, surgeon Giancarlo McEvenue told CNN.
Doctors noted that the silicone implant was likely responsible for deflecting the bullet's trajectory -- ultimately saving the woman's life.
Though the exact details of the shooting are unclear, surgeon McEvenue told CNN that the patient walked into a local emergency department seeking treatment after being shot in the chest.
"She was talking -- the trauma team was in disbelief at how well she was," McEvenue, one of the treating surgeons, said.
"The bullet wound entry was on the left breast, but the rib fracture was on the right side. The bullet entered the skin on the left side first, and then ricocheted across her sternum into the right breast and broke her rib on the right side," he explained.
"The implant caused the change in the trajectory of the bullet," he said.
The woman suffered a gunshot wound, broken ribs and broken implants, but otherwise was remarkably unscathed.

“On the left hand side is the heart and lungs -- if the bullet would have gone into the chest, she would have had a much more serious, possibly life-threatening injury," McEvenue added.
Medics found a hard, bullet-like object in the woman's right lower anterior thoracic wall below the right breast.
Using trauma radiographs, medics were able to spot the bullet in the right lateral thoracic wall, a fractured rib and air bubbles in the left breast, and concluded that the bullet traveled from the left breast to the right thoracic wall.
The patient was later evaluated and cleared by the trauma service, doctors said, but the firearm was never recovered and the shooter remains unknown, according to the report.
Doctors treated the wound by removing the implants, irrigating the wound and prescribing a short course of antibiotics, they noted in the report.

I've never been a fan of breast implants unless medically necessary.
    But, implanted chest armor... FTW!
