This happened yesterday just outside of my installation. I doubt it'll get much attention since it was terminated before anyone was killed.
A local police chief is calling a Fort Leavenworth soldier a hero for ending an active shooter incident Wednesday on the Centennial Bridge.
The soldier, a 34-year-old man, intervened by striking the shooting suspect with his car, Leavenworth Police Chief Pat Kitchens said.
One person suffered a gunshot wound during the incident. The suspect also was injured.

Parents are out. Alarm goes off. They see a break-in (I guess via remote security camera viewing). Day shift arrived and found the burglar prone being held at gunpoint by two teenagers, one with an AR and one with a handgun. Burglar had broken in by busting out a window. Nobody injured.

Douglas County Attorney Donald Kleine, speaking during a press conference, said the actions of the bar owner, Jake Gardner, “were justified.” Kleine acknowledged that the decision would not be popular, given the calls for Gardner to be charged with murder in the death of 22-year-old James Scurlock. During the press conference, Kleine played video clips of the Saturday night confrontation between Gardner and several other people that lead to Scurlock’s death, the Omaha World-Herald reported. In the video, 38-year-old Gardner can be seen standing outside one of his establishments in a heated exchange with a group of people. At one point he backs away from the group before ending up on his back. A skirmish ensued between Gardner and Scurlock before Gardner fatally shot Scurlock. Gardner was taken into custody at Omaha police headquarters Saturday night and released Sunday night, the Omaha World-Herald reported.

Rapper YFN Lucci, whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett, was filming the music video in an apartment complex in the southeastern part of the city, Atlanta police told WGCL-TV. Police said the 15-year-old boy's thumb was grazed after some 21 bullets were fired, with at least one striking YFN Lucci’s Bentley. The teen was not identified and it was not immediately known if he has been hospitalized. YFN Lucci left the apartment complex without his luxury car before authorities arrived at the scene, police said. Police are searching for suspects in the shooting.
