Back in November there was a shootout at a Spokane Motel between a felon in possession and an ATF agent.

Now the ATF and US Attorney's Office is filing charges against the guy who supplied the glock to the felon. Apparently the seller has a meth habit, and has purchased and later sold guns that were recovered in several crimes.

Gazzaway, who authorities say was a methamphetamine user at the time of his gun purchases, could face up to 45 years in federal custody as a result of his crimes.

“Mr. Gazzaway is alleged to have made false statements when purchasing firearms, including firearms that are alleged to have been used shortly thereafter in connection with the commission of crimes – including the shooting of one of our agents. This case demonstrates the dangers of illegal narcotic users purchasing and possessing firearms,” said ATF Seattle Field Division Special Agent in Charge Jonathan T. McPherson. “We will vigorously investigate anyone who illegally purchases or possesses firearms, particularly when those firearms fall into the hands of those who commit other crimes.”

Good work by the ATF, in my view.

Gazzaway could only give the gat away and get away for so long. Good riddance. (I mean, go away.)
There's nothing civil about this war.

Ex-Cop Dad Of 14-Year-Old TikTok Star Shoots, Kills Stalker Armed With Shotgun, Goes Free Under Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law

The ex-cop father of a 14-year-old American girl who has over one million followers as a TikTok star shot and killed an 18-year-old boy who stalked his daughter and had traveled hundreds of miles to her home, where he fired a shot through the family’s front door.

The father was not charged under Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law.

Ava Majury, 14, whose videos showed her singing, dancing or pulling pranks, noticed in early 2020 that one of her followers, Eric Rohan Justin, 18, of Ellicott City, Md., was becoming obsessed with her, messaging her in Snapchat and on Instagram, and even joining online games she played with her brothers, The New York Times reported in a lengthy piece about the story. Ava initially responded to Justin as she did with other fans, but learned he was buying her personal information, including her cellphone number, from her friends in New Jersey and Florida. He then would call or text her.

“Ava’s parents allowed her to sell Mr. Justin a couple of selfies that she had already posted to Snapchat,” The Times noted, continuing:

After that, Mr. Justin messaged Ava on Venmo with a breakdown of what he would pay for “booty pics” and photos of her feet, “stuff that a 14-year-old shouldn’t be sending,” she said. She blocked him on all her accounts. In Venmo messages viewed by The Times, Mr. Justin pleaded with her to unblock him, sending $159.18, then $100, and finally $368.50 with the message, “sorry this is all I have left i’m broke.” Mr. Majury said he texted Mr. Justin’s cellphone, told him that Ava was a minor, and demanded that he stop contacting her.

On July 10, 2020, Justin came to the Majury’s home in Naples, Florida, armed with a shotgun, which he used to blow open the front door before the shotgun jammed. That prompted Ava’s father, Rob Majury, a retired police lieutenant, to give chase but he fell, gashing his knee, as Justin fled. But later Justin returned and when he pointed the gun at Majury, Rob Majury shot and killed him.

Ava has two brothers, Evan and Logan, ages 17 and 11. When Justin returned to the home, Evan snapped at his sister, “This is all your fault.” Police confirmed Justin’s two cellphones contained thousands of photographs of Ava Majury as well as hundreds of hours of her videos.

Ava later received messages on Venmo from a man that the Majurys discovered matched that of a registered sex offender.

    Already done upstream:

So let's have a social media presence:

    https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/17/u...va-majury.html

Daughter gets stalked by nut who shows up with shotgun and shoots in the door. Gun jams, Dad tries to tackle. He's an ex-cop, nut returns, Dad shoots him.

All kinds of commentary on social media, guns, fame, blaming this one or that one. Lots of various nasty fall out. They are lucky they are not all dead.

Eric Rohan Justin showed up at Ava Majury's home in Naples on July 10, 2021
He had a shotgun and two cell phones with hundreds of photos of her on them
Eric, 18, blasted open the front door - he was then shot dead by Ava's dad Rob
Rob is a retired cop from Jersey City - he said on Friday he did what he had to do to protect his family
In the months before the shooting, Ava sold two selfies to Eric for $300
She defended it on Friday, telling GMA she did it to stop him contacting her friends
She is 15 now, and makes up to $1,700 per video across her three TikTok accounts
Her parents have allowed her to stay on the app despite the safety fears
In December, she worried she was being followed by someone else and she is now homeschooled
Nothing is known about the stalker other than that his parents divorced
He lived in Maryland with his mother, and gave Ava a total of $927 on Venmo

Reasonable action in the moment by the Dad. Execrable parenting to allow her social media presence.

This is a part of today's culture that I don't understand at all.

    How widespread is this?

    Very.

I don’t fully understand it myself but we’ve dealt with a fair bit when it goes bad.

Not much information on this one. They are saying that it was a confrontation between an armed homeowner and armed protesters that resulted in one dead and 5 wounded.

    From: https://www.cnn.com/2022/02/20/us/po...ing/index.html
    and
    https://www.portlandoregon.gov/polic....cfm?id=402187

"The Saturday night shooting in Portland, Oregon, that left one woman dead and five people injured started with a confrontation between an armed homeowner and armed protesters, according to a Portland Police Bureau news release issued Sunday.

Officers responded to a shooting call near Northeast 55th Avenue and Hassalo Street in the city's Rose City Park neighborhood around 8 p.m. Saturday and found the woman dead, police said.
"The scene was extremely chaotic, and a number of witnesses were uncooperative with responding officers," the police news release said. "Most people on scene left without talking to police. Detectives believe a large number of people either witnessed what happened or recorded the incident as it unfolded. This is a very complicated incident, and investigators are trying to put this puzzle together without having all the pieces."

The two men and three women who were injured were transported to area hospitals and their status is unknown, police said in a news release Saturday night."
