Former Red Sox star David Ortiz shot in Santo Domingo

Dominican Republic National Police Director Ney Aldrin Bautista Almonte said Ortiz was approached from behind and shot in the back at close range at the Dial Bar and Lounge, a bar in Santo Domingo. Surveillance video of the shooting, which was obtained by Dominican TV station CDN37 and is graphic in nature, shows a man identified as Ortiz being shot from behind as he sits in a bar area. Other guests disperse as he reels in his chair. Ortiz's father, Leo, told reporters outside a Santo Domingo hospital that his son is in stable condition. "He is out of surgery and stable. He is resting," Leo Ortiz told reporters, according to The Associated Press. "Big Papi will be around for a long time."

"A Marine veteran in Florida was shot and killed last week during a road rage shootout that occurred as he tried apologizing to a driver for cutting her off in traffic.

Keith Byrne, 41, was driving a utility vehicle on April 7 when he cut off the driver of a BMW in the Miami suburb of Davie, WFOR-TV reported. A friend who was on the phone with Byrne at the time said he got out his vehicle at a stoplight to apologize."

Man starts shooting at Dallas federal courthouse from outside, gets dropped by law enforcement.

A man in a mask, combat gear and glasses who opened fire Monday morning at the Earle Cabell federal courthouse in downtown Dallas was shot and killed by officers before he could injure anyone.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Matthew DeSarno identified the shooter as Brian Isaack Clyde, 22 at a news conference on a street corner outside the federal building. Clyde died at the scene and was taken to Baylor University Medical Center, after police responded to an active shooter call, officials said.

SAPD: 14-year-old shot by homeowner while attempting to burglarize home

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police are investigating an early-morning burglary attempt that ended with a teenager shot in the stomach.

The shooting was called in around 2:30 a.m. at a fire station in the 7000 block of Culebra Road.

According to preliminary information provided by police, a couple was awoken by noises and flashlights through windows of the home where they were sleeping in the 7300 block of Westville Road. The homeowner grabbed his firearm and confronted the suspect and fired his weapon, but he wasn't sure if he had hit any of the suspects, police said. The teenager and other individuals all ran after shots rang out, according to police.

According to police, the teenage boy was driven to the fire station several minutes later by his father after he woke up and learned of the boy's wound.

Authorities said they believe the 14-year-old and others went to the house not expecting anyone to be there when he was shot. He was taken from the fire station to University Hospital in stable condition.

Police said they will file charges against the teen. The homeowner is not facing charges at this time, police said.

The night of the incident the news were all saying the shooter had a mohawk, was the aggressor, and was in custody.

I won't post it here, but I have a photo of the shooter with his shirt open after he was down. Perfect center mass hit. Kudos to the cop who took the shot.

Four people are SHOT at the Raptors NBA victory parade sending swathes of the two million fans who packed Toronto streets fleeing in terror before police take three suspects into custody
This is obviously fake news. Canada has strict gun control so something like this is as improbable as someone importing heroin into the U.S. in violation of law.
