In the P-F basket of deplorables.
Reno PD Sergeant seriously wounded. 1 suspect dead, 2nd suspect in the hospital.
ETA: The gofundme that is linked in the story exceeded goal in less than a day. The organizer closed donations at that time. They listed a few other funds that people who want to still help can contribute to. Pretty cool to see the community step up.

JAN. 9 UPDATE: The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is taking over the investigation of this shooting.
They say around 6:20 p.m. Sunday, RPD officers were responding to a call of a suspicious circumstance on the 1500 block of Sky Valley Drive.
Around 6:35 p.m., after an interaction with two men, multiple shots were exchanged between two Reno police officers and the subjects.
One of the RPD officers was hit by gunfire and was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.
Police say both suspects were shot during the incident. One of them died, while the other is in an area hospital where his condition is being monitored and will be re-evaluated on Tuesday.
The conflict over the new training facility location in Atlanta heated up some yesterday, after some jackwagon decided to shoot a Georgia State Trooper who was helping clear the woods of the protestors. The offending idiot is now assuming room temperature.

There’s been some social media postings about possible retaliation for the fallen martyr.
“Conspiracy theories are just spoiler alerts these days.”

Ten killed, ten hospitalized after a shooting at a Lunar New Year festival in Monterey Park, CA
Police believe they have the identify of the shooter who may have earlier created a disturbance at another local event. Weapon report as " a high power assault rife" (as if there are a)low power assault rifles and b)"assault rifles" at all). How about "rifle" or "long gun"? Tragic regardless, but more fodder for the gun control crowd. It being California and all one can be assured that not a single individual at that event was in a position to defend themselves.
