Calgary police have issued first-degree murder warrants for two people they believe were involved in the death of an officer during a traffic stop. Sgt. Andrew Harnett, who was 37, died on New Year’s Eve. Police say he had pulled over an SUV in the neighbourhood of Falconridge about 10:30 p.m. and was hit and dragged on the road when the vehicle took off. Officers are searching for Al-Azan Shah Muhammad, 17, and Amir Abdulrahman, 19, both of Calgary. Harnett, a 12-year veteran of the force, was previously a military police officer.

Local pastor killed, 2 injured in shooting at Texas church
Smith County sheriff says shooting suspect will likely face capital murder charge
https://www.nbc4i.com/news/u-s-world...0TSvcbv-XdaflwA local pastor has been killed and two others have been injured after a shooting at Starrville Methodist Church in East Texas, according to the Smith County Sheriff's Office.
Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith said during a news conference that the confrontation occurred around 9:30 a.m. Sunday after the suspect was discovered inside the church's bathroom with a red bank bag.
Smith said that the pastor, who was armed, pointed a gun at the suspect and asked him to leave. However, the suspect was able to disarm the pastor before shooting and killing him.
There were two other individuals inside the church during the incident. One individual is being treated at a local hospital due to a fall while the other victim is undergoing surgery for a gunshot wound. The second victim's condition is currently unknown.
After fleeing the scene in the pastor's car, the suspect was taken into custody by authorities in Harrison County. Smith said the suspect had suffered a gunshot wound through his hand, though it's unclear when he was shot.

Smith explained that two of the people involved in the incident were carrying firearms at the time. In reference to church security, Smith added that if people are going to carry firearms, they’ve “got to be willing to use it.”

Suspect shot in the hand.
Don’t know how small the room where the gun grab happened was or how close the pastor was when dude grabbed the pastors gun but supposedly the other two were also armed and part of the “church security team” and neither even got off a shot.
Unfortunately too many church security teams are well meaning folks who have t been in a fight since grade school, if ever.

Says the pastor was distracted by his wife. I agree about church security teams. I have a good friend who has tried to get his church 'team' to seriously train, gets nowhere. They think as Texans they are intuitive gun fighters and tacticians.
Wonder if they were trying to 'clear' the place?
Either an open carrier or a dude with shitty concealment gets his gun took, gets shot with his own gun then has his ride tooked too.

The suspect asked the victim for money, and the victim leaned into his car to check for change. That’s when the suspect “disarmed a handgun from the backside of the victim” and shot him, Mauldin said.
im strong, i can run faster than train

At about 6:15 p.m., Madison Police officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired at PLS Check Cashing, 1907 S. Park St., Lt. Eugene Woehrle said in a report. A 30-year-old Madison man saw his stolen car at the scene, confronted the people in the vehicle and the person in the driver’s seat drew a handgun from their waistband, Woehrle said. The owner of the stolen vehicle fled back to the car he was driving and got a gun from the center counsel and fired multiple times at the stolen car as it fled the parking lot through the terrace, over the sidewalk, and through the median, Woehrle said. The shooter was arrested on tentative charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
