Gunman in 2019 Halifax shooting acted in self-defence, judge finds

Nova Scotia Supreme Court Justice Gregory Lenehan found Devonte Denzel McNeil not guilty on four charges: attempted murder, careless use of a firearm, pointing a gun and recklessly discharging a firearm. But he convicted McNeil, 27, on six other charges related to possession of the firearm and scheduled his sentencing for Aug. 24. “Mr. McNeil committed several serious criminal offences, having on his person a loaded handgun, concealed, with an obliterated serial number, when not authorized, licensed or permitted in any way to have it,” the judge said. “He took it into a vibrant nightclub in the presence of numerous innocent young adults. There was absolutely no legitimate purpose for him having it. He put each and every one of those persons at great risk. … His actions are not to be condoned in any manner, and he will be held accountable.”

5 Wing Goose Bay sergeant pleads guilty to firearms-related charges

Canadian Armed Forces Sgt. Adam Blackwell has pleaded guilty to two firearms-related charges laid over an incident in January 2020, when he discharged a shotgun because he thought a woman was in danger. The RCMP arrived shortly after and Blackwell was taken into custody. The statement of facts said Blackwell surrendered to police. At provincial court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Thursday, Blackwell, 34, received a probationary sentence for three years. Blackwell was discharged under conditions, which include a 10-year ban on firearms, a lifetime ban on prohibited and restricted firearms, and an order to not contact other individuals involved in the incident. Judge Phyllis Harris stressed the court does not encourage "the use of firearms, obviously, by the general public as a means of dealing with potential criminal offences." This guilty plea does come with other consequences for Blackwell, according to Sullivan. This sentencing, especially the firearms restriction, will have implications on Blackwell's employment status with the Canadian Armed Forces.

SAN ANTONIO – An argument between two men at an apartment complex led to gunfire and a man being wounded late Wednesday night, San Antonio police said.
Officers were called around 11:30 p.m. to the Chevy Chase Apartments & Townhomes in the 1400 block of NE Loop 410 after receiving word of shots fired.

According to police, a 24-year-old man’s ex-wife had come to his apartment to pick up some of her belongings and brought a 28-year-old male friend along. That’s when, police say, the two men began to argue as the belongings were being gathered.

Police said the ex-husband asked the other guy to leave, but that he returned shortly thereafter with a firearm.
Investigators say the apartment resident, in fear for his safety, pulled out his own gun and shot the 28-year-old man in the shoulder.

Officers said information gathered at the scene determined that the 28-year-old was the aggressor in the incident. He was taken by EMS to Brooke Army Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries and booked on a charge of aggravated assault, police said

Insane video, can't believe it's still up.

A 'rapper' is sitting in his car, chatting with a friend over an Instagram livestream, and is assassinated.

I found it ironic that his street/rapper name was KTS Dre. The KTS stood for Kill To Survive.
