    York County deputy shoots, kills armed robber in Limerick

    LIMERICK, Maine — An armed robber was shot and killed Friday night by a York County deputy at the Dollar General in Limerick. The area around the Dollar General store in Limerick was closed off Friday night well into the night. York County Sheriff William King said the man shot and killed was an armed robber. The attorney general investigates all officer involved shootings in Maine.

    Mark Cardilli Jr. guilty of manslaughter in shooting death of sister’s boyfriend

    On that note, here's another one from Maine...

    Mark Cardilli Jr., 25, was found guilty Friday morning of manslaughter in the death of 22-year-old Isahak Muse. Cardilli admitted to shooting Muse, his sister’s boyfriend, during a fight at the Cardilli home in March. Read the full judgement here.

    Around here, it's more of a "general store". They've popped up in rural areas where it's too much of a hassle to drive 10-20 miles to town for milk, TP, laundry soap, cold medicine, bar oil, etc. There are also some in suburban areas where it's more convenient than a larger store. They're small enough that I could see their layouts being modified to fit local demand; i.e., grocery store.
