Kind of a primer of things you might not want to say on camera.

From personal experience it’s real easy to say “no comment” or “sorry, I’m not interested in giving an interview”.

In my situation I thankfully didn’t actually have to shoot someone, but because it led to an arrest and a media release by the PD local reporters did try to track me down and get an interview. That part was surprising because I didn’t think the outcome would ever make the news cycle, but I guess it was a slow news day.

I guess the moral of my story is to expect the media to show up and have a plan to brush them off pre-programmed, because if something like that happens to you it’s only human to want to talk about it.

Drive by shooting at a vigil complete with kids in a bounce house.

The vigil was for a guy gunned down a few weeks earlier.

Looks like a case of snitches get mag dumped kind of deal.

An alarming and depraved incident no matter what.

Man shot in leg while confronting car burglars outside South Side home, San Antonio police say
Officers called around 3 a.m. to 500 block of Monticello Court

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for three men who they say shot a man after he confronted them about breaking into his vehicle early Tuesday morning.
Officers were called around 3 a.m. to a home in the 500 block of Monticello Court, not far from East Southcross and South New Braunfels Avenue after receiving word of a person wounded.
According to police, the homeowner, a man in his 30s, was putting up Christmas lights and went to put his ladder away in a backyard shed. That’s when, police say, the man heard someone breaking into his truck in the driveway and went to investigate.
Police said the burglar saw the homeowner and told his friends who were waiting in a car to shoot the man. The driver of a red sedan fired, hitting the homeowner in the back of a leg as he tried to run.
SAPD said the suspects managed to steal “a few dollars” from the car and fled the scene. The driver went to a hospital on his own with a non-life-threatening injury.

Juvenile videos Alabama home invasion for social media, crashes in car chase, sheriff says

A juvenile faces multiple charges after Limestone County authorities say he staged a home invasion, threatened the occupants, stole items and documented the theft on social media, before leading officers on a vehicle chase prior to his capture.

Limestone County Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin said the incident happened Sunday around 1 p.m. in the 23000 block of Glover Road.

A victim told dispatchers that her ex-boyfriend had broken into her home, armed with an AK-47 and a pistol. The man threatened the lives of the two people of the home and the occupants fought back.

A male victim was struck in the head with the AK-47, causing a laceration, but he “stayed in the fight,” McLaughlin said.

The male was able to knock the AK-47 out of the offender’s hands, who then pulled a pistol from his waistband.

McLaughlin said the male victim was able to escape, and the female called 911, as the armed male pursued the male victim.

He then took items from the home and from the victims, and entered one victim’s vehicle and stole items, breaking the car windows with the AK-47.

Deputy Jake Abernathy spotted man leaving the scene, and a chase followed for 13 minutes, with Deputy Justin Fields taking part.

McLaughlin said the suspect blew a tire and crashed into a cornfield near East Limestone Road and Hall Cemetery Road. He then attempted to flee on foot and was immediately captured.

According to the sheriff’s office, a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of the AK-47 pistol with a 100 round magazine drum, a Glock 21 pistol with a 30 round magazine, 3.75 ounces of marijuana, scales and some of the stolen items.

Investigators say the man made a video of himself with the AK-47 pistol while stealing the items and posted it on social media.

The juvenile, who is being held without bond in the Limestone County Detention Facility, faces charges of first degree burglary, two counts of first degree robbery, first degree criminal mischief, vehicle break-in, three counts of illegal possession of a stolen credit/debit card, domestic violence menacing, first degree possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a concealed weapon without a permit, attempting to elude, and several traffic related offenses.

That looked personal, like someone’s feelings got hurt beyond “it’s just business” level of personal. Looks like all the shooters made sure to put rounds into each target even after it was clear they were toast.
