According to local radio, the suspect has been apprehended.
This one is graphic, and pretty crazy. The guy soaked up 29 shots before the headshot finished it.

Amokrane "Kiane" Sabet, a former MMA heavyweight who fought three times for Ultimate Challenge MMA in the UK, was shot to death by police on Monday in Bali, Indonesia. The 49-year-old Frenchman (by way of Algeria) had an expired tourist visa, and was confronted by local police and immigration officials. Sabet was armed with a knife and stabbed one of the officers. All warnings by police were ignored by Sabet, who was shot multiple times and died at the scene.
"I am done. Shoot me!" - Sabet can be heard saying moments before his death.
According to Bali police spokesman Hery Wiyanto, Sabet has had a history of violent and troubling behavior throughout the city.
"There had been many complaints about him such as eating at restaurants without paying, carrying a knife, and harassing people, but every time we called him in for questioning, he never showed up," Bali police spokesman Hery Wiyanto told AFP.
"One of our officers tried to approach him and calm him down, but Sabet stabbed him," said Wiyanto, adding that the officer died from his wounds.
There's video (with his body blurred out) of the scene which can be viewed at the top of the page. You've already been warned that the footage is graphic, but another reminder that it is graphic certainly doesn't hurt.
Sabet had a record of 1-3 in professional MMA, with his only victory coming in his debut fight back in 1999. He wouldn't compete again until 2009, and he lost all of his bouts at Ultimate Challenge MMA, including a pair of tapouts vs. Ben Smith. Here's video of his rematch with Smith, which ended in a rear-naked choke loss.
Terrible. From what I see in the video, at :26 he says "I'm done, shoot me!" and begins his approach before breaking into a charge. I think the police are using rubber bullets -- kinda lose sight of the action as the cameraman falls back but when you see it again at :46, the guy is clearly attacking someone on the ground. At around 1:02 you see the person get up and go to the police and get into a car around 1:16. I think that's the police officer that died later in the hospital from the knife wounds
The guy soaked up ineffective rounds, was able to close distance, and go hands-on with one of their officers. Tragic.

Shows how effective "less lethal" stuff is against many of the folks LE has to deal with.
Just a Hairy Special Snowflake supply clerk with no field experience, shooting an Asymetric carbine as a Try Hard. Snarky and easily butt hurt. Favorite animal is the Cape Buffalo....likely indicative of a personality disorder.

What's the deal with the guy shooting in the air before rhoid rage man goes berserk. Doesn't seem like a good way to diffuse the situation.
