A retired Sergeant from the Gwinnett County SO was killed last night during an attempted robbery at an auto parts store. He was an employee there when he heard the commotion of a robbery and came out of the back with his gun drawn only to be killed by the criminal.

Possible Shooting Incident At Bellaire HS, in Texas

So very near; I hear the helicopter hovering overhead. No details from the news media, yet. I learned about it from my wife, who follows that that Nextdoor app. The perpetrator left the scene on foot. One person shot, according to posts on the app. I can hear multiple helicopters.

Being retired, I can no longer simply switch-on my PD-issued radio.

With no details, on the bad guy, I am staying put, at home. As usual, no need to go fetch a firearm. The preferred HD weapon, one of my Benelli M2 shotguns, was within reach, when I learned of this.

The high school is a bit too far away to hear gunshots, except perhaps rifle fire, in the dead of night. Bellaire is one of the safest cities in the USA, but many of the HS students live in neighboring Houston, and, of course, no school is “safe.”

Texas man with license to carry shoots, kills suspected robber at home cookout

The three unidentified suspects approached the front yard where guests were socializing and attempted to rob them at gunpoint. Two of the suspects had handguns, police told FOX4 Dallas-Fort Worth.

An unnamed man, who was a licensed handgun carrier visiting the residence, drew his weapon and shot one suspect, police said in the release. The two other suspects escaped and remain at-large.
The wounded suspect was rushed to a hospital, where he later died, police said.

Cody Saylor, 28, of Allentown is facing aggravated assault and other offenses for shooting Darin McMahon, 46, of Delaware on September 15.

Officers swarmed the Threat Assessment and Tactical Solutions building or “TATS” in Stroudsburg back on the afternoon of September 15.

Police found McMahon with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Now, Stroud Area Regional Police have charged Saylor with aggravated assault, a felony.

They say was Saylor supposed to be shooting at McMahon with a fake gun during a firearms training seminar.

But Saylor shot McMahon with his own real gun, which he mistakenly brought into the exercise.
