It seems that recently officers have been getting to these incidents more quickly, which is a good thing. Don't know if folks are calling as soon as they see or hear something, or what, but it sounds as if the only damage inflicted in this one was between officer and suspect. Officer seems to be in good spirits and the suspect is room temperature.

I get that trooper shot him once.
But I don't get the 2nd shot when he was down and holding just the knife.
Article said he was trying to get up. If that makes a difference, not in my lane - nor enough information about distances to determine if that was needed. Not enough info and one can postulate a million different things.
