SIRT: Mountie justified in firing pistol during traffic stop near Berwick

The officer stopped a vehicle on Highway 101 near Berwick on Dec. 11, 2018. After smelling alcohol, the Mountie asked the male driver to accompany him back to his cruiser. “When the officer told the male he needed to search him before placing him in the police vehicle, the male became unco-operative and an interaction between the officer and the male occurred. "As the officer moved forward to arrest the male, he noticed the barrel of a firearm in the male’s hand. The officer reached for his service pistol and discharged his weapon. The male driver fled the scene on foot into nearby woods.” When the suspect was found by officers a short time later, it appeared he had sustained a non-life-threatening injury to his hand. He was taken to hospital and treated for his wound. The suspect’s gun was discovered by officers after a six-day search of the woods he'd run into during the traffic stop. The report noted the Criminal Code of Canada allows a peace officer to use force if they believe it’s reasonable “for the purpose of protecting the peace officer or any other person from imminent or future death or grievous bodily harm.” In this case, the use of force exercised by the officer was reasonable and justified in the circumstances, SIRT concluded, so there are no grounds to consider any charges against the officer.

Protester accidentally shoots himself in foot outside of Florissant Police Department, police say

FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A protester accidentally shot themselves while demonstrating in front of the Florissant Police Department Tuesday night, according to police.

The Florissant Valley Fire Protection District said they responded to treat someone for a gun shot wound. The Florissant Police Department said in a media release that "a protester that has continuously been present at the protest as well as carrying a long rifle, accidentally discharged his own firearm, shooting himself."

Police said they provided first aid and that the man accidentally shot himself in the foot.

"No officers fired any shot," police said.

That turned in to quite the cluster for a bit. Glad the officers were able to get things under control quickly and that none of the other armed protesters turned the whole thing in to a shit show.

Any idea what the whole "take ten steps back" was about the guy said after he fired his weapon?

Louisville gunman opens fire on protesters; at least 1 dead, authorities say
Officers cleared the park completely and secured the area so homicide detectives could conduct their investigation.

Authorities in Louisville, Ky., were investigating Saturday evening after a suspect opened fire on a crowd of peaceful protesters at Jefferson Square Park.

Authorities confirmed to Fox News that at least one person was killed in the shooting. LMPD Sgt. Lamont Washington issued the following statement:

"Just about 9 p.m., there were reports of shots fired in Jefferson Square Park. Calls then came in that Sheriff’s Department personnel were in the park performing life-saving measures on a male who eventually died at the scene. A short time later, we got a report of another shooting victim at the Hall of Justice. That person was taken to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries."

Officers cleared the park completely and secured the area so homicide detectives could conduct their investigation. Detectives are trying to gather as much information as possible in order to identify all who were involved in the incident.
Some videos posted on social media showed a man firing at least a half-dozen shots from a sidewalk toward a space filled with protesters and tents. In one video seen on Facebook, the camera operator ducks and begins running but many more shots can be heard. People can be seen hiding behind concrete ledges and shouting for others to run for cover.

It was unclear if the barrage of gunfire was from the one suspect or also from open-carry protesters or police officers returning fire.

As the Facebook video plays, shouts for a medic can be heard and at least one person is seen immobilized on the ground in a pool of blood. People rush to the individual and at least two armed civilians stand guard while others try to administer first aid.

Ex-employee (fired in 2019) drives through side of Walmart Distribution Center and starts shooting workers with semiautomatic rifle with "high" (standard?) capacity magazine. This is the 2nd mass shooting in 3 years in Tehama County, California (an area larger than Rhode Island and Delaware combined but with just 65,000 population).

Man displaying swastikas arrested for shooting woman taking flag

HUNTER, Okla. — A 44-year-old Hunter man who flies Nazi swastika flags at his home was arrested early Sunday morning after shooting a woman who attempted to steal one of the flags while attending a party across the street.

Alexander John Feaster was booked in Garfield County Detention Facility on complaints of shooting with intent to kill and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held without bond.

Garfield County Sheriff Jody Helm said deputies responded to a 3:08 a.m. call reporting shots fired in the town of Hunter. Reports included that a woman in her 20s had been shot.

Helm said four units responded to the 200 block of East Cherokee in the northeastern Garfield County town and found a woman with four gunshot entry wounds. He said the woman was treated at the scene and later transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Deputies learned there was a party across the street from Feaster's residence, 217 E. Cherokee. On a dare, the woman who was shot attempted to steal one of Feaster's flags. She was shot after taking one of the flags, Helm said.

Helm said deputies saw Feaster inside his residence and made contact with him. Feaster was taken into custody without incident.

The sheriff's said a search warrant was sought and obtained for Feaster's residence. Helm said deputies recovered a 5.56 rifle and "numerous other weapons and rounds."

Helm said the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was contacted to assist with the investigation.

A Hunter resident, who asked not to be named, said the woman who was shot was one of her friends. She said she arrived after the shooting and laid with her friend until medical personnel arrived.

She said she'd been told her friend was still in surgery as of 1 p.m. Sunday.

The woman said there had been "no problems before" with Feaster until Sunday morning.

"I feel like these flags are a disaster waiting to happen," she said.

Husband and Wife break most of the 4 Rules to protect mansion:

    https://www.ksdk.com/article/news/lo...8-398790d615ca

Can anyone comment on the 4 Rules of Gun Safety for this couple? They are not poster children from that point of view?

The handgun, the one the guy chose for his wife?

If some set foot on your property, saying they want to talk to you, discuss the legal justification for the use of the firearm?

Not wise actions on their part. They have also ruined their lives on the social plane of existence. They run a law firm. Watch the clients bail out on them.
