Yeah, weird.

Let's hire a bunch of people who couldn't get jobs in real LE, (or got canned) and have them serve as our LEO's and security for the bases. We will augment them with some active duty folks who are on temp loan from their parent unit for a few months and can pass the pistol qualification course. But. since it is hard, we will lower the standard for the qual, not only ignoring any capability to identify threat indicators, and put a stop to lethal aggression should it arise, ala Fort Hood, and now TNY, but if the threat indicator is a dude who starts blazing in their face, leave them just incompetent enough to get themselves killed.

At the same time, we should ensure our warriors returning from the show are completely disarmed, to include knives or even less lethal devices because they are probably crazy and need VA/mental health treatment. But since we can't get that right either, we will simply ignore the fact that we continually leave our service men and women essentially defenseless at their place of employment, regardless of how safe, sane, and qualified they are.

To make sure I have it all straight......train the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines to shoot, move, and communicate. 11 years of sustained armed conflict refines those skills. But when they come home from the war, we will pass their personal (and family) security off to a bunch of retards no one would trust with a potato gun?

I hadnt seen this until now. It is this stupidity that pisses me off worse than anything else. It should be instant suicide to start a shooting on a military base. Instead we all just hope nothing happens because our best option as outlined in training is run and hide.
