Possible burglary attempt in Indy, alleged perp dead.

The thing that makes me wonder if something else was going on is what it would seem to be the odd burglar who was still breaking into houses well into AARP age.
If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

They arrested this P.O.S. yesterday, but man, hopefully these folks get some security training. Apparently he was firing blanks, but it really doesn't matter at all.

That looked like Larry David should have walked in the door at the end. WTF?
There's nothing civil about this war.

Some dude shot up a "horseback and hunting dog" event in Jackson County, on the Florida Panhandle, just across the border from Dothan, Alabama.

One of the shooting victims, shot in the calf, was a local Veterinarian, Dr. Susan Wells. I don't know her, but have boarded my dog at her Vet Hospital.

    Remember this one?

After getting charged with first degree assault in 2020, the King County PA reached a plea agreement with the driver for reckless driving. (The headline on the article is wrong -- he was charged with first degree assault, they just pled it after two and half years).

King County Prosecuting Attorney Leesa Manion said the following in a letter to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on Friday:

There is no doubt that the victim in this case felt scared when he saw the defendant driving down the closed street. The video evidence in this case shows that he and other protestors responded in a way that they thought was necessary to protect themselves and others. The defendant in this case has raised a self-defense claim. Accordingly, the jury in this case would be required to view the case from the defendant’s perspective when evaluating his self-defense claim. Over the course of the follow-up investigation, it has become clear that we cannot meet the high burden of disproving self-defense beyond a reasonable doubt, which is the standard required by law. This case has been reviewed and discussed by some of the most experienced attorneys in our office, and in light of the follow-up investigation, we do not think we can prove an assault charge beyond a reasonable doubt.

This story from El Paso was originally reported as an off-duty officer stopping a shooting.

"As soon as the shooting ended, the 16-year-old suspect began to run and was pointing the gun towards the direction of bystanders, including 32-year-old Emanuel Duran, a Licensed to Carry Holder. As the suspect ran towards Duran and bystanders, Duran drew his handgun and shot the suspect," Duran said.

This is one of many reasons not to open carry in a setting where you will be in close proximity to strange people. A teenager saw a gun in someone's waistband in a Dunkin Donuts, so he grabbed it and ran outside, The gun owner followed him and a struggle over the gun ensued, when the gunowner was shot and killed.

"A 17-year-old is accused of snatching a gun from a Dunkin’ customer in Georgia and shooting him to death in the parking lot, according to local reports.

The teen, Lamarion Orr, was arrested Friday and charged with murder, 11 Alive reported. Police have identified the victim as 41-year-old Brian Dykes.

Witnesses told police that Orr saw a gun in Dykes’ waistline and grabbed it from his pants just before 9 a.m. on Friday. Dykes reportedly chased Orr outside and a struggle ensued before the teen shot and killed Dykes.

Police reviewed surveillance footage to track down Orr at a nearby motel where he was arrested. He is charged with felony murder and robbery by sudden snatching, police said.
