New Brunswick police officer who fatally shot Chantel Moore won't be charged

The Public Prosecutions Service of New Brunswick said in a news release there was no reasonable prospect of a conviction based on the evidence. The 26-year-old from Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation in British Columbia was shot by an Edmundston police officer during a wellness check on June 4, 2020. The release said the officer believed Moore was using force or the threat of force against him, that he shot her to defend himself and that his actions were reasonable under the circumstances. The evidence included police dash-cam video, surveillance video from retail locations, witness statements, statements from police officers, as well as reports related to the officer's firearm and a knife found at the scene.

2 paramedics found guilty in death of Hamilton teen Yosif Al-Hasnawi

Two Hamilton (ON) paramedics who treated dying teenager Yosif Al-Hasnawi in 2017 are guilty of failing to provide the necessaries of life, an Ontario Superior Court judge has found. Steven Snively, 55, and Christopher Marchant, 32, had pleaded not guilty. Yosif was in Hamilton's lower city on the night of Dec. 2, 2017, when he was shot in the abdomen. The court heard Snively and Marchant believed the teen had been shot with a BB or pellet gun. In fact, Al-Hasnawi was shot with a .22-calibre handgun, and the hollow-point bullet pierced an artery and vein. It took paramedics 23 minutes to leave the scene at Main and Sanford that night, the court heard. The teen was shot at 8:55 p.m. ET, and pronounced dead at St. Joseph's Hospital about an hour later. In his decision, Arrell said paramedics are taught that a penetrating wound to a person's abdomen is an immediate "load and go" to a lead trauma hospital, but they failed to follow training and protocols. Arrell said Snively's and Marchant's actions that night amounted to a "marked departure" from the minimum standard expected of properly trained paramedics. The court has scheduled a two-day sentencing hearing for Oct. 25 and 26. The conviction carries a sentence that cannot exceed five years.

San Antonio police officer shoots two after driver shot at him, police chief says

Driver pulled gun amid traffic stop, chief says
Here's the video from the officer and the dashcam.

The San Antonio Police Department released body camera footage of a shooting in the 2300 block of Pinn Road on April 16th, 2021, killing two suspects and injuring a police officer. The shooting occurred round 11:27 a.m., when Officer Tyler Sauvage, a five-year veteran, carried out a visitors cease on a blue pickup truck. The video shows Sauvage approach the truck, which was occupied by two men and a woman, and instruct the driver to stop going through his pockets. The driver was then asked to turn off the car and put the key in a place where the police could see it. Sauvage asked for the driver’s ID and moments later, told him to step out of the truck after saying he could smell marijuana.

The driver admitted to the officer that he smoked marijuana earlier and that it was just the smell -- that he hadn’t had any in his possession. He said to the officer in the video that he was “...Just being honest with you.” In the video, a police official said the front seat passenger is heard asking the backseat passenger for a gun. The officer then opens the driver’s door and in just a matter of seconds, the suspects fire multiple gunshots. Sauvage is hit by the gunfire in the hand, which is seen in the video covered in blood, and he retreated to his vehicle. His police radio was also hit in the exchange. The officer dropped his weapon in the video after being shot, but he was able to retrieve it before taking cover behind his police unit.

In the video, police said the suspects ceased fire as Sauvage continued to shoot as he saw movement inside of the vehicle and “feared he would be shot again by the suspects.” The two men in the truck were pronounced dead at the scene. Sauvage was taken to a hospital for treatment of his hand. The third passenger, a woman, was shot in the torso and was also taken to a hospital. The woman survived her injuries and has not been charged as of yet, according to police. The two men who were pronounced dead at the scene were identified as Alex Garcia, 25, and Sammie Barbosa, 33.

Nice work under very difficult conditions by Officer Tyler Sauvage.

The reason for the stop from the video description was a "visitors cease" - what is this?

I have never heard that term before, but I think it means a police stop or getting pulled over.

Appears to be a typo on the part of the YouTube channel.

Most news articles are simply paraphrasing and regurgitation. Repeating incorrect information is par for the course IME.

The stop started as a Traffic stop. Most likely a typo for “Vehicle Code”.
