I'm a fan of the "girly" rum drinks. Actually drinking coconut rum and Sprite. A shot or shot'n'half of rum to 12oz Sprite over ice.

I've found a good local rum, Privateer Rum out of Ipswitchn MA.

and the guy running the sales store is a retired 11B50. He gave me "the retired NCO discount". The other guys in line asked if their was a "retired naval officer discount."
    "No, there's a surcharge..."

(In order to run a tasting room in the state of Hawai'i, it has to be attached to the distillery. But the main facility can't accommodate the crowds, and besides, the Kilohana Plantation is a major tourist trap I mean stop. So they fire up this 50 gallon pot still once a year...)

Good stuff. Great day when the state of Washington deigned to allow it to be sold in stores here...

*Also the best tourist luau we've been to. Not some cheesy Vegas-style review, an actual story. With fire dancers.

El Dorado 21 is my favorite sipping rum! The 15 is OK and doesn’t feel like a sin if you drop in some coke.

Zaya is great, like liquid candy for men.

Any of the Matusalem aged rums are pretty awesome.

    Barcardi 8 is petty good.
