Thread: Tenicor AIWB

I'm finding the Tenicor, like many AIWB holsters doesn't go low enough on the belt for my liking. And since they use that offset hole spacing, I can't just use another brands loop. So for the meantime, I'm using the spring clip with only a single screw holding it in place (IE, bottom hole on clip in top hole on holster.

I'm using my own PTD loops, so I'm not sure what you mean by not being able to use another brand...can you explain?

I guess you mean another company's clip?

The loop is a fixed position, and is the same height as their clip. I’m using a G-Code clip on my JMCK 2.5. It drops the holster and extra 1/4” over any of their attachments and is working really well for me. The ho,e pattern on the Tenicor means I’ll need to get more creative... or ditch it.

Hmm... Why do you like to run it so low? It seems like that would make it tough to get a good grip on the gun while drawing.

Maybe a solution is a longer holster, if your objective is to get more length below the belt line? This would allow you to keep the grip accessible.

Body shape and I wear my belt low. I still can get a full grip on the gun, skinny fingers, and practice enough it doesn’t hinder my draw.

Out of curiosity, has anyone had success with the Velo 4 using only one DCC clip in the mid holster location? (No clip attached to the holster's adjustable retention screws below the trigger guard.)

Just wondering about both security and excessive rotation for a G26 in a G19 holster.

    Thanks.

Have you ever used a single-clip / loop setup before? It's a hard no for me. Against my better judgment, I bought a PHLster Classic a couple years ago. No matter how I set up the loop (The Classic only has one attachment), the grip yipped and yawed forward and backwards all over the place. Every time I moved, the cant changed.

The way you're looking to do it, the clip would be in front and ALL the weight of the gun is behind it. I would think it would reverse-cant the grip pretty bad.

That's my suspicion and why I haven't removed the PTD loops that I replaced the dual DCC clips with. It was merely a fantasy I was hoping I might indulge.

I will say that Tom's "Orion" (DSG) with the single wide metal clip works great for me, even if I have whined to him during our prior conversations about the minimal amount of grip rotation that I experience.

Guess I'll just stick with using the Tenicor with the PTDs. As mentioned above, I'm having some issues with the clips that might be less apparent for someone with a different belt.

Thanks, Larry. I "knew" that was the right answer...but hope springs eternal. (So to speak. )

@blues ... At the risk of asking the obvious, or sounding like a smart-ass, is there a good reason you are sticking with the Parameter belt?
I am not familiar with that particular belt but I do know the MM Specialist Pro belt works exceedingly well with the Tenicor DCC Clips and holster.

It probably wouldn't be obvious unless you were around when Mack offered the "Parameter" a while back. I think I have six of the Mastermind belts from the thinnest to fairly beefy (the "Universal").

The "Parameter" is very similar to the various incarnations of the Specialist belts by Mack, I think it's the same but might be a hair thicker in construction.

That said, I like it because my favorite of all the Mastermind belts are the two "Universals" with D ring buckles and this "Parameter" with AustriAlpin frame buckle. No velcro required, though the Universals do also have velcro. The Parameter does not...which I don't miss fiddling with.

Image is generic from google of a belt with the frame buckle:

I've asked Mack in the past if he would reconsider using the D ring buckles but it doesn't seem to be in the cards.

Anyway, I've got enough belts to last the next couple of lifetimes. I don't really want to buy more at this point.
