Do you happen to have some model number handy?

    Thanks.
The scopes that I have are all out of production as I like to buy used to save money and Leupold has a lifetime warranty. The model number (SKU) of the replacement for the fixed 4X I use to hunt is 58680. The 8X and 20X scopes have no current representation in production. The SKU for a rimfire 2-7X33 is 174179. The SKU for a 4.5-14x40mm (30mm) Side Focus Option is 170699.

I like (love) Leupold scopes for hunting rifles. I feel they meet the best balance of size, weight, quality, clarity, and cost. I've had everything from a fixed 4X to a 6.5-20 EFR with turrets on rimfires. To me, the 2-7x28 rimfire strikes the best balance for non-bench use. It has a fine duplex reticle, which does a good job of not covering up too much of a squirrel's head or a target. Short, light, good eye relief.

Here's one of mine on a CZ452 I had shortened to 16" and threaded:

I recently mounted a Weaver 3-10x40 with Mildot/Mil turrets on my CZ 452. It's a good crossover hunting/precision trainer setup. Used to be sold as an exclusive through Midway for ~$350 but since it was discontinued you can find new old stock for $200 on Amazon and eBay. $200 for Japanese glass, exposed turrets and a mil/mil setup is a bargain.

For hunting I'd say fixed parallax is fine, and even preferred.

I’ll give you a call soon.

Kinda of limited in my vocal abilities (post-surgery here) so it might be another day or two before I’m able to actually talk on the phone easily.

    Nothin’ fancy.

    Sig Whiskey 3.

Considering the distances I shoot (long shot on a varmint is 50 yards) I didn’t know that I needed to step up into the higher magnification/price ranges.

Worst case scenario, if it doesn’t work out for what I need, I’ll pull it off and throw it on another project I’m working on...
