I had no issues with the test sample XD-E's I've tried, FWIW.

Among discontinued guns, the Smith CS9 is even smaller than the 3913.

    Books. Bikes. Boomsticks.

I can explain it to you. I can’t understand it for you.

Good Lord, I don't think I'd truly grasped just how fugly the XD-E is...and this from an unabashed Glock guy.

    Fwiw, my G43 transmogrified into a 442pc.

I wanted to crawl down this rabbit hole awhile back. Ended up back at a G43 with a gadget. Life is good. The xde felt very uncomfortable and large in my hands for what I was wanting. I have a j frame but it simply can not touch the performance I get from the g43.

LOL - I just realized I have an XDE that I’ve never even finger banged. I won it at USPSA Nationals or something?

If anyone wants it, PM me?

If you're giving it away, I'll try it.

Yep. Pass on the XD and other awkwardly tall guns with tiny grips. I really think the G43 is close to the perfect gun in this size. With the SCD, it's got what I want.

How does the width compare? On either/both 3rd gen S&W single stacks vs. Glock, S&W, Spfld offerings.

No kidding. Guns don't need to be pretty, but that thing is just ungainly. It's like they took some design cues from Hi-Point.
